My first Mk1 VW was a diesel Jetta Coupe, did so much work to that car, built a badass turbo diesel for it then sold it shortly after because I wanted to get out of debt. I regret it all the time and its still running like a tank up in the PNW. Its one of the main reasons I wont sell my E30. I'll deal with the debt because I know I'll never build an E30 like the one I currently own.Simon
Current Cars:
-1966 Lotus Elan
-1986 Mercedes Benz 2.3-16
-2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI

Wish I could've held onto the Saab 99LE I had in college -- a silver two-door with the soccer-ball rims. Was FWD ... wasn't particularly fast ... certainly didn't handle or brake nearly as well as an E30 .... but nevertheless it was fun to drive. Tons of charm and character and damn near bulletproof. Cool and quirky -- loved the ignition switch on the floor, the backwards engine placement and the weird-looking-but-comfortable seats. Great memories ...ainadude

My E30. It's not perfect, but I love the color combo (schwarz/cardinal), it's got nearly every option and it has ZERO rust. Salvage title though, but whatever. I love the car. I did the front and rear suspension, and found not a single rusted bolt, which is a first for me.
I don't know that I'll never sell it, but it would be really hard to sell my Jetta. It's been with my family since 1988 (it's an '86), it's super easy/cheap to maintain, very reliable, and it's got over 500k on the clock. Too much sentimental value to let it go.
And lastly, my 240z. Because it has so much rust that I'll either try to do the impossible and fix it, or I'll scrap it. I'm the last owner of that car, either way. Unfortunately, finding another 70/71 shell with no rust is hard to do from NJ, and prices are slowly going up...
