If prices haven't gone down i recall water tight cases being very expensive. It might be easier to make your own. I new someone in one of my photo classes who did for very very cheap and it worked all the same.

What kind of battery grip is that? And there really isn't a big difference for an amateur photographer. Some people will pay thousands of dollars more b/c they don't like how light the XT and other similar models are. Its smarter to spend most of your money on lenses in my opinion b/c if you stick to the same SLR brand throughout your life you can use the same lenses interchangeably.
The ones that canon makes are between $100 and $200 depending on your camera. They are made FOR a specific camera, so you can access every single function of your camera from outside the case and they're all good to about 100feet. I've heard you can have professionally built custom cases for $3-400, but I think i'd trust Canon's case more.

How did that guy make his own case? I don't know if I consider a zip-lock bag an alternative solution =) But seriously, i'm curious

But that's 200 feet and for an SLR camera. That case has to be able to accomodate a variety of lenses that you can put on it. I had no idea anyone even made something like that... but very cool to see!

TJ's camera is an SLR camera...

In any event, I would not like to take $1k worth of camera and lens down in a $200 housing...just because you're not going to 200ft doesn't mean it's not better to have the added quality...
