A thread about 80's rock. FIrst of all....Def Leppard, GNR, Megadeth,Van Halen, and Metallica is not in the same groups as Ratt, Motley Crue, and gay ass Poison. The first 3 did not wear extreme womens make-up and have been proud of it.Even though I respect the Crue due to their copious drug intake and general life philosophy. REM is the biggest fag band alive and doesnt deserve to even be mentioned here and Rainbow (Ritchie Blackmores band after Deep Purple) rocks the mother fucking house. I remember watching the first MTV music vids with my dad in 1983/4. Damn Im old now. 25. ACDC Back in Black is a good album?? Listen to anything with Bon Scott as the lead singer. Like "If you want blood" album. Specifically "The Jack".

P.S. Albinos suck ass. Ask me how I know.

I agree with you man, and I'm the same age. I'm not saying that they all get lumped into the same category, I'm just saying what I liked when I was a kid, and what I still like listening to now. I don't like some of those bands because of who they were, I just liked the songs. :D

UFO's late 70s material was the best. I just picked up Force It, Heavy Petting, and Obsession on vinyl not too long ago. Strangers in the Night is a must, too. As far as 80's metal...nobody's mentioned Ozzy's first 3 solo albums yet?!

Umm..yeah, you were fucking 3 and you remember MTV? WTF?

Yeah last bunch of REM albums have totally sucked ghey cock. M. Stipe is an ass. Almost as big as Bono. But, if you wanna discuss all 80's music, ya gotta get away from being judgemental/opinionated. That being said, I would submit that REM/U2/b-52's/Talking Heads/DEVO and the whole post punk/new wave/college radio ( Athens, baby) genre had a huge impact on the direction of "popular music". U2 still sells out shows. Vince Neil is a parody of the aging rock star. Again, when I was 18, in 1984, and you were in freakin diapers, this "hair metal" that you espouse was totally gay. Backstreet Boys gay. Joe Elliot sucked with Pyromania and beyond. On thru the night/high and dry were the good stuff.

                          Bon Scott was the man.

While I am at it I did not see Judas Priest. I was 18 in 1980 so you are talking my language here.
