You're more likely to be crushed to death by a vending machine than catch Ebola.

But sleeve and V-dub, the gubmint is evil and incompetent, why should they do anything about this at all? Shouldn't you just rely on yourself not to get sick? Pay attention, take proper, precautions, etc?

Ebola has a 21 day incubation period during which you are not infectious and show no symptoms. After that it takes a while to ramp up and turn into a full blown illness, so even after the first 21 days you wont be seriously infectious. Then you need to realize that you need to have very close body contact with some one to get Ebola. Im talking getting there sweat, blood, spit or other body fluids directly in your mouth, eyes or other mucous membranes. Even if they are coughing you would have to be within 3 feet of them.
Dont get me wrong. Ebola is a big deal and needs to be respected and treated as a threat to the world, but it is not worth loosing your head over. Yes our health system needs to get its act together, but at the same time the news media is ones again using our fear and ignorance on the topic to make them selves money and get everyone up in a frenzy.
Educate your self on Ebola and how it works. If your really worried, stay away from international airports and other places where you could be exposed. Thats about it. Dont let CNN/NBC/FOX make you think the sky is ones again falling.

ebola can live on surfaces for 3-5 days, it doesn't merely take direct contact with an infected person to contract... theoretically you could touch a handrail someone sneezed on 3 days prior and get ebola...

its quite the clever virus, also for every new transmission and growth the ebola virus very sloppily replicates itself billions of times sometimes mutating in the process

average deaths by Vending machines is beteen 11-13 people per year. So being that only 2 have caught Ebola and 1 that brought ebola to Dallas, his post is accurate.

even after you survive the 70% chance of mortality, you will shed ebola from bodily secretions for up to 90 days. Its been reported that ebola has been passed in semen. Its damn hard to get rid off.

I'm glad the head of the CDC had to answer to congress for his piss poor logic today.

Whats pissing me off the most is the irresponsible actions of this nurse that flew to cleaveland. I hope she gets prosecuted for her selfish actions.

she reported to the CDC that she had a low grade fever and the CDC cleared her to fly. Sounds like the CDC should be more held accountable than the lady that followed protocal.
