sub dad actually makes a really good point. no offense, but this is what is wrong with youths today.

when i was growing up, the advice my dad gave me was basically no matter what job you do(even if it is cleaning toilets) do it to the best of your ability all day every day.

if you exceed the expectations of your customers, your supervisors will notice and this is the surest way to get a job that sucks less.

really, what we are trying to say is that your attitude is bad. simply changing your point of view will make all the difference as to whether you are happy in your job or your life.

also, if you hate your job, why are you doing it? just go find something else that is more suitable to you.

i see a customer and ask them "if they need help?" they always say no. they leave and come back when i have a line of customers. when i get to the customer that said no and ask them "what can i get for you?" they always say "i don't know, what should i get?"

I think you need a job outside customer service, 'cuz you're not providing a service. When somebody asks you "what should I get?" they're actually asking "What wildly expensive cut of meat should I feed my family tonight?" They're looking for ideas: "The filet is very good today, and the stuffed pork is really nice, though the salmon's fresher than I've ever seen it." Please them, they'll come back and you get to keep your job.
Please don't come to Canada, we have more than enough IDGAF 'service' people already.

what pisses me off is when i am at work (i work behind a meat counter) and I'm prepping food or something and i see a customer and ask them "if they need help?" they always say no. they leave and come back when i have a line of customers. when i get to the customer that said no and ask them "what can i get for you?" they always say "i don't know, what should i get?"

When I'm watching the news, in the morning, at night, whenever, every.single.freaking. commercial break contains the same stupid Prius commercial. Dad looks out the window while sipping coffee (voice over) 'Our son wanted to wash the family prius... using the rain' and obviously that's all the damn kid was using because he's out there rubbing on the car with just a sponge with no soap or anything. and what kid wakes up and goes out to wash the car while his parents are still getting breakfast ready anyway? for a dumb prius painted cotton tampon white, who would even bother washing it in the first place? it doesn't even deserve it. like with all the hybrids nowadays if you're still buying a prius it's because you WANT people to file you into that stereotypical 'I'm already againt the next war', I leave the cat hair on my couch because it's 'natural', I only eat organic everything -category. the 'real' environmental people are the ones who drive subarus because at least they've got 4 wheel drive and cages for the cats and invite you to drive out to the middle of yellowstone to knit hemp scarves

That's the camera gear scam. Website says its in stock, placer order, says to call and confirm, you call and they say buy all this other shit. If you don't buy all the other shit, they say "oh sorry your whatever is actually back ordered" then they proceed to fuck you with some fine print bullshit written in invisible html.

I trust meeting people on Craigslist more than buying from crappy east coast scamsters. I think they center around Brooklyn and Jersey, something about those areas that the laws make them able fuck you. There are other stories on the web about the rip offs. There are a few good ones, B&H, adorama, can't think of the other, I stopped shooting and sold my camera years ago.

i think the only location now is the one on westnedge south of 94 a ways. he sold the others to wolf camera. its a family run business. i worked at the westnedge store in the mid 90's as part time in store sales staff. i guess there is a pretty good chance we might have met there as well as back home in mid mich.

Ahh good ol Norman..............Sprinkle road just north of I94 and the one over on Westnedge somewhere between 94 and "the hill" IIRC that store is still there (well last time I was though that way in 04 or 05 anyway) . Have many many memorable hours wandering though those stores with my grandpa in the late 80's- mid 90's, didnt they had location down town too didnt they I honestly dont remember. I totally forgot all about them till just now that you mention it ....

Yeah think I am just going to deal with the jews at B&H or Adorama from now on lol for major internet sales... Oh I will throw an endorsement out there for Dans Camera City in Allentown PA. I have bought all my M4/3 gear form them over the years (my old employers home office is in Allentown).

Yuppers, I paid a bit over MSRP because well they had ONE...... Every god dammed time I try to deal with someone out of jesery when it comes photo stuff it always turns out to be some slime ball trying to pull one over on the guy that lives in a state he cant point to on a map because hes never left Jesery and is a product of their high quality public education system. I am done with dealing with Jesery, other than maybe Beech Camera as I think they are out of jesery.... At least they will tell you they cant ship. Not take your money, send you a tracking number and hope that will fool you, when its not a valid number. Then when you call to ask they stop some other poor shmucks shipment in CA and turn it around and have it sent back to jesery claiming it was my shipment with the wrong label.

SO then I get told that I will have to wait till they get more stock in, to ship me my paid for shit, or I can take a refund. Ok thats fine credit my account and we will go our separate ways no hard feeling shit happens. OH NO they get to hold my money hostage until UPS gives them their shit back as that is policy........ I am calling them back tomorrow and they will credit me or I will have to make a call to Amex and I will let them deal with these shit bags.....

I should have done more due dilligance than I did it is partly my fault, but when you CALL them and confirm your package will ship on the day they say it will and that your ITEM is in stock........... I kinda thought I was doing just that and making sure I was not going to end up on the "one of those stories" list.....

dude! seriously! call amex now! fuck those assholes. credit card companies are used to having to unfuck the fuckings people get from these scam artists. i used to work at an online photo distributor called norman camera(kakamazoo, mi) when i was in college. they have full page ads in the photo mags but they don't have unbelievable prices like some of them and they don't sell equipment without u.s. warranties. during my couple years there, i did see/hear stories of some really f'ed up shit those guys pulled. i have threatened to buy products from them in the past. every time i almost do, i find myself put off by the snake oil salesman pitch i get on the phone. then i look at the reviews these companies get(aprox 1 star), i always think better of it and buy a good used one off ebay or craigslist.

ehhh decent supper zoom for a wildlife/birds/ planes/ and spying on the neighbors for the price point its hard to beat even with a stick or club, and its better than a root canal...
