    Car-Inflicted Wounds Thread

We've all worked on cars. We've all scraped a knuckle or bumped our heads.

What battle scars do you have? Did you survive?

Here is one of my worst:

I just bolted my front wheel to the hub and wanted to give it a good spin. Well, I spun the wheel really hard, but I put my fingers too deep past the spokes (for leverage, I guess). I gave it a good strong spin but I didn't make it around one full revolution before the wheel came to a dead stop. Apparently when you have 2mm clearance between the brake caliper and the spokes, the two parts act like scissors on whatever gets in between.

I may or may not have cried.

I had a friend that did not survive their DSM falling on them. ALWAYS use jackstands kids. Fucking ALWAYS.

As for myself? Nothing really. I've always played it safe under the hood of a car. My hands are FAR too valuable to be careless. Under the hoods of women...... Well we won't go there.

I've got cuts, scrapes, and scars just about everywhere below the elbow on both arms from various incidents. Mostly small stuff, though. Currently sporting a burn and some fire ant bites (?)

Holy fuck, how is that even allowed to be posted? Worst one I got was a deep cut right by my right wrist, close by my artery. Now I think twice before moving any exhaust out of my way at the savage yard.

Holy balls. That other thread was brutal. As is this one.

As for me I wasn't working on the car, but I was uncoupling the jetski trailer and ended up burning the back of my leg on the exhaust. Still have a pretty sizeable scar about 4" long.

I suddenly don't feel that any of my scars are worth noting.

Broke a caliper bolt loose and caught my thumb on a dust cover.

I once had a third-gen Camaro fall on top of me, then roll over me as I was working on it. Dislocated right wrist and some strange bruising(from the diff) on my thigh. Fully recovered, though👍

This photo was taken ten minutes after the fact but you can imagine how crunch my finger was. Autozone style spring compressors slipped and converged on my finger. The spring looked kind I like a "c". Lucky for me for me there were two other people nearby one too help compress the spring while one loosened the bolts.

I wish I had a picture of my index finger when I punched a heat shield when the wrench sled off.
                            Good thread.
