Listed maximum weight is 1980 lb.
I really dont think a few thin wall square tubes and some aluminum will be that heavy. People build campers out of 2x4 and thick plywood on these all the time with no problem and that shit is way heavier.
Any a used enclosed trailer the size I wanted was about $1500. I dont think Ill spend much more than that.

yes but a wagon in the size you want is going to have at least a 3500lb axle under it.... that alone is worth the money.

I can always go to the junk yard and grab a rear axle off a mini van or other FWD car if this one cant handle the weight. Not really tripping off that.
          Everything will work out.

The U-Haul trailer the same size as my plans has almost exactly the same load capacity. I am not worried at all. And as I have said the you can acquire heavier axles easily that will bolt right on.
If I really need an upgrade down the road.

A trailer axle is not the same thing and type of suspension as car axle....

Dont get my wrong I think you have a cool idea here and building something you want is always cool for sure, not to mention rewarding and educational in many ways, its worth doing. I just think you have underestimated the actual cost of this undertaking and the liability you might be putting on your self when you pull it down the road full thats all....

Ditto that. The more I think about it, I can't picture getting any kind of work done in a 4 foot wide , 8 foot long, 6-7 foot high box. What would be like working in a closet. Add a work bench, and your tools. It's going to get cramped fast. I think it's one of those "There is a reason why you don't see other people doing it....cause it doesn't work" kind of things. (or at least I've never see it)

What kind of work are you planning on doing?

Funny thing is I make my living out of a space just that very same size actually about 6 1/2 feet long. Mobile lab in the back of a pickup bed. But I am not trying to build shit in there lol.... Its a very cramped space and would be a PIA to build shit in, I just have to process radiographs in it...

I believe it will work. Working in a cramped environment sucks but it can be done. I'm building my car in a one stall garage that is PACKED full of shit.

#1 purpose will be storage. Really this is for my move and to keep my tools and supplies in.
#2 is really just an after thought. Not really a work bench but a 1' wide fold down bench just big enough to put small stuff down on. Not looking to build a transmission in there or anything. Just something I can use to throw a new blade on my saw or service my tools and such.
