Also, define useful. If you reach more people via late night cable than print media, isn't TV more useful? Printed news is a dead source of media.(still good for lining bird cages I guess) Nobody under 40 reads the paper, ten years from now nobody under 50 will read the paper. Blogs are taking the place of printed news. Where did you find the video you're bitching about? I'm pretty sure it wasn't in a newspaper.

I do read the daily newspaper, and happened to come across an article expressing the displeasure some felt toward Colbert and his mockeries on Bush and the like. I also read an article on Yahoo news which said internet videos were being pulled from Youtube and some other video host, so I decided to look it up on Google and see what all the fuss was about. After watching it, I couldn't help but think, "Who the fuck does this guy think he is?" I don't have cable but have seen his show before, and agreed that his work on Comedy Central was completely worthless. I'm not critizing him as a news reporter, of course, but as a comedian. He acts the part of a reverant myopic, and that's just stupid. His comedic bent is just a manipulation of our generation's increased ability of interpreting what we see on TV. And you guys are just eating it up.

I have learned everything I need to know from watching sportscenter, pinks, and you can't do that on television. As far as the "news" goes, those guys are the real comedians. Did you guys see the bush impersonator? That was funny..... not as funny as good ole Steve, but funny. I give the guy credit. He stood five feet away from the most powerful man in the free world and slapped he and his policies around. I give credit to Bush for sitting through it patiently and having the class to thank him after he was finished. If Bush can forgive him maybe you can too Wagen.
