4 feet of snow before the end of November is just plain insane. Hope nobody destroyed their E30 yet.

I'm a few miles away from the worst of the snow, but we've got a decent amount here. I've got studded snow tires on the e30, and it drives great in the snow. Made it to work and back OK yesterday, but had to take a long detour home around some closed roads and towns with driving bans.
I actually moved out of the area that got hit the worst a few weeks ago. Talk about good timing!

My girlfriend took the day off yesterday, since all of the roads she takes to get to work in the city were closed. She made it in today, but with more snow in the forecast, may need to bail early.
I let her dive the e30 today, and I was planning on driving my vw bus with BF Goodrich All Terrain tires, but as luck would have it, it wouldn't start this morning.
Instead, I put all the dead batteries I had laying sounds around the garage in the trunk of my Miata, and drove that. It did amazingly well, and I made it to work with without any issues.
My co worker in my department lives in an area that still had a driving ban, so she is working from home. I was able to make it in, which leaves me doing all of hands on tasks while she handles the behind the scenes work.Last edited by Andy.B; 11-19-2014, 08:09 AM.

Incidentally I drove to work in the lowered e34 wagon, found no one there and drove home past about 12 abandoned semis and buses, and several ditched cars. It was actually really bad out driving, had fireman speeding by on snowmobiles and utvs down the road, and at one intersection in particular probably 50-60 cars just sitting with people waiting to get past stuck vehicles.
I'm astounded the e34 made it to be honest.Originally posted by LJ851I programmed my oven to turn off when my pizza was done, should i start a build thread?

Will come close in localized areas but this still does not surpass the blizzard of 76, ( much more wide spread and up to a 100 inches in 48 hours) I know this was 20 years before most kiddos on here were even contemplated, (I remember being very little an people still talking about this every big winter storm was on the out look but little snow fall predicted) but this is not out of the ordinary for western NY and happens form time to time.
Hope you all stay safe and warm dont need to venture out too much. This looks like its going to be another LONG 1970's style winter.Last edited by mrsleeve; 11-19-2014, 01:17 PM.Originally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

Well yeah there was the blizzard of 78 was a "nor-easter" that whipped the ass of the NE and upper mid west, but the blizzard of 76 was a western/Northern NY Ontario deal that was even worse for that area. Had Low pressures at the heart of the storm normally only seen in sever hurricanes and shit. Yeah I had to go look all this shit up ;) both were a couple of years before my timeOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.
