Now, on topic. I've always LOVED the F50 ever since I first saw it in Need For Speed: High Stakes.

Neat, got any pics? If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for the 308? And the 348 power train? I want to know what I'm looking at, b/c realistically I'll most likely be purchasing a Ferrari that will need some work
This is a great thread. I love BMWs, but Ferrari is right up there with them, and I feel the two brands are very similar in many ways, mainly being great drivers cars that sadly have a rich/douchey stereotype, but when looked deeper, share a great culture behind them
I paid 10.7 for the car, plus $1k to have it transported from CO to VA. I paid $5k for the powertrain.
Here's the car in front of my dad's place:
It's not in great shape. The paint is the original lacquer and it's completely crazed. It has 4500 miles on the odometer, but has covered more than that on a transporter. I posted on Fchat when I originally bought it and a guy came out and said its original engine is in his GT/4.
I don't care about originality because I'm a hot rodder.
I'm so meta, I'm even going to paint it blue.

First time I've seen this thread and boy am I glad it's here as Ferrarichat is just a bunch of Beverley Hills rich kids with 458's and 360's that have a thing for black exhaust tips and yellow brake calipers. Yes, I have one in the family, 1964 330GT 2+2 Mk1 and yes, that all matters! Any Ferrari with 2+2 in it means it's essentially worth about 20% of what people expect it to be worth. However, the Mk1 was only built in '64 and is easily distinguishable because of it's quad headlights, (yes, like and E30!), only 124 Mk1 cars were built. We've had it since 1984 when my grandpa paid $12,500 for it in San Francisco and daily drove it for 3 months. It has a whopping 84k on it but hasn't seen the light of the day for the better part of 8 years unfortunately but that's about to change as I have recently said fuck it, I want it back on the road and I'll do whatever I can to make it happen as I have not seen the car or heard it run since 2007 and it makes me sad af.C6Z

I'd rather drive it than let my as yet unconceived children inherit an unfinished project :p
What I *would* like to do, while we're indulging in fantasy, is mate up a 355 transaxle (which looks just like the 348 transaxle) to a 360 engine. I'd build the 360 engine with a big bore kit to punch it out to 4.0. With a bit more cam (the factory cams are actually mild for an 8500 RPM engine, which shows how awesome the ports are) and bigger headers (the factory 360 headers are undersized for a 400 HP engine), it should be able to push 500 to the wheels at 9000 RPM.Comment
