Jeremy Clarkson is a blowhard and his opinions are to be taken with a bucketload of salt, but top gear is entertainment TV, not motoring TV, and I don't think it would last long without his apish and outspoken antics, so the suspension is probably just a show of force to placate people who don't like him. Honestly, I think Top Gear jumped the shark a while back, there's too much nonsense now, but I still watch it and it would lose some of its appeal without the old oaf.

Is she serious? I think she is.

And she doesn't have a fucking clue what shes talking about

Car manufacturing, weirdly, has not just caught up with but superseded the world’s environmental concerns. Vehicles that give off few emissions and use modest amounts of petrol look like dinosaurs now, compared to the ones that use no petrol at all.

What, you think those cars magically appear out of fucking thin air? I think someone proved a while back that a Prius would have to be on the road some ~20 years before offsetting the emissions from the energy used just to make it.

Comparing UK top gear to the dweeb from US Top Gear from last episode was sad. The US dude was so boring to watch and listen to (or maybe that's just how they'd like you to see them, considering he lapped James in the rally circuit).
