Thinking of new wheels for my 944, need R3V's approval.

    This :

    plus

    These:

16x8 front, 16x9 rear. Planning on 245/50/60 and 255/50/16 tires.

If you go with those wheels people will think you have an FC.

There are so many nice Porsche wheels, I'd just go with the ever popular phone dials or 7 slots. Yet many of those may be hard to use as your antenna says you have an early 944, and thus you have very weird spacing issues. You've definitely looked in to the spacers/adapters needed, and need for changes in wheel studs on one of the axles bring a PITA?

    Yes, I love/hate 944s.

        Roguetoaster,

Aside from your thoughts on the style, would you please school me (if you don't mind) on the spacing issues I may be facing.

The car is an '84 and is completely stock. The wheels are 5x130 ET11.

It's been quite some time since I looked up specifics, but depending on how the car was or wasn't retrofitted over the years you may have a factory spacer on one or both of your axles or a differing offset set of wheels F/R. As far as specific offset issues I suggest you slog through rennlist before you buy new rolling stock.

you may want to go 225/45 front and 245/45 rear. your tire choice might have clearance issues. you would want to check into it to be sure.

Personally I love turbo twist wheels on them, but anyway nice looking 944!

I like the factory wheels too, but I want something a little more exciting. What is really motivating me to change is tire options. Not very many performance tires that will work well on 15" wheels.

I too like turbo twists, but I am pretty set on 16" wheels. I don't like big wheels on older cars, especially when they have little brakes behind them.
