What kind of scholarships are available for a white middle class male?

Just like the title states i am a white middle class male. Since my father owns his own business the government feels like there is no need to give me any money. My parents are by no means anywhere near wealthy and cannot afford to pay for anything more than my tuition. so that leaves room and board and food and everything else up to me. If anyone knows of some scholarships i might be able to apply to and actually have a good chance of getting some money please let me know! I have a decent 3.4 GPA and am transferring from a community college to Sonoma State University in CA.

Please give me a helping hand and point me in the right direction!!!

I'm a white middle class male and I am almost on a full ride from academic scholarships. High SAT score and maintaining a high GPA in college is vital. I get some need-based too though since my parents are divorced.

My SAT wasn't too high (1180) but I am maintaining a 3.8 in college, going into my senior year. I didn't have that scholarship my first year obviously, you usually get more and more money throughout your college career unless you are a lazy fuckup like h0lmes.

Quiet both you. I scored in the top 5%. Even 1280 is only at the 75th percentile in NC.

If have been going to a community college, chances are your opportunity to get $ is low. For white males, it's all about the offers to attract the cream of the crop to go to a certain school. I know I got admitted and scholarship offers to every school I applied to.

Look at the website for the specific college and department that you are applying to, that is how it is here at Houston, also try the website for the financial aid department at your school. And don't fuck around your first year, I lost a full ride that way cause I thought I was too good to go to classes.

Hey bimmer, maybe you can get help through th r3vlimited scholarship fund. Here is how it works.
Two ways
1. Shit on three threads a day. 75% of those threads need to be closed b/c of your attitude each week. The scholarship is paid in $50 increments by non other than Budget beater.

2. Hope and pray...... or the logical thing. Go to a college admin. and ASK for info. Not only will it show that you are proactive, but it will help you recieve that much needed public interaction the internet forums are lacking!

I have zero schlarships, sure would be awesome if I had some next year, but I don't even know yet. I'm ready to take out another loan. lol I pulled off a 3.1333 first semester and I got a 3.58 last semester! I'm siked! I was like 3% away from an A in Calc II. SON OF A BITCH! grrrr

Unless you're really smart with the grades to prove it or have some kind of physical handicap, you're shit out of luck in the hand-out department.

I got a 1300 on first and only try at the SATs and didn't get any sort of academic scholarship. However, at my old school I got some sort of $5K/yr "alumni grant" or something because of the town I was from. Go figure. Ask someone with knowledge in admissions at your current and next school about scholarships. Pretty much every state has a buttload of money set aside for education that no one gets until they basically ask for it. You might get lucky with applying for a scholarship that no one even knows about and you win by default.
