+1 on the hunting cams. Another thing you could try is occasionally camping out in the treeline and waiting for suspicious vehicle filled with hooligans, ready to ambush. Whoever is doing this deserves punishment. Not only is it totally unethical, it's also illegal. Fuck em up.

cost-co, both blue and orange home improvement emporiums, as well as most large hardware, and I am sure Sams walmart, big buy, kamapart, frys etc as well also sell wifi, blueteeth, enabled security cam kits with a 1tb or larger HDD's . With 4-12 cameras and the ability to add more for about the cost of 1-2 decent trail cams. Yes you have to pay more for higher resolution cams or buy 1 add on with a higher resolution chip but it gets you something to go on.


Issue I see with trail cams that are motion activated near the road is every time a car goes by you will be getting an image. this will fill memory rather fast, and leave you a lot useless images to sort though 1 at a time. With the video feed that is all time/date stamped you can fast forward to where you want to be and run the video on fast to get though it faster......

Yes that is the issue i was seeing with trail cams aswell is i the sorting i gotta do just to find them instead of just watching the tv and have it played back

Yes I was thinking about camping out but I could be camping out for a long time. They are smart about when they do it you cant predict it there is just a dog or many at the porch step random mornings last nights dog was the first one for a couple months almost like they need to wait for more dogs to have pups.

Don't get a Costco camera set, resolution on all of those not enough for plates. Get HQ Cameras that can operate WAY up your driveway that can snap pics. Make sure they can take pics at night. Make sure memory buffer is first in first out so they will just keep snapping and throw out the old stuff. Two of those Bushnells may do the trick. Good luck, and sorry about your Grand-dad. Jeremy

If you do end up going with one of the multi cam solutions try mounting extras in a hidden area along the fence that way if you cant pull the plate from the driveway cams you could identify the car and get it from the secondary cams

Stuff like this is nothing new. I grew up in the country south of Omaha. My mom is a akc certified professional breed/trainer and shows her dogs, nationally and internationally. More than once have I had to walk towards the street with my shotgun as some loser metheads tried to coax one of our dogs into there vehicle.

We also had a bridge just down the hill, more times than I'd like to believe we'd find liters of puppies or cats thrown down the bank, sometimes we could save them other times it was too late.

There are absolute dirtbags in this world....worse yet they continue to breed. should all be castrated or shot.
