I'm going to guess you didn't know that restaurants and bars don't just pay $99 for the fight like the rest of us.

They pay based on the capacity of the establishment. The little Tex-Mex place around the corner from me isn't showing the fight because it was going to cost them $2800.

Sorry for getting lippy sir I pretend like this isn't the internet so I won't get some unwarranted fit of rage going or anything...... I do know that they are paying more but it is still a cost of doing business, drives away some customers, alienates others who aren't there for a shit ass fight. The numbers for BWW is something on the range of $5,000/store that wants to show the fight. This just seems very shortsighted to me, but as always let the laws of economics decide what its worth and if charging is a good choice vs. being the local spot that you can go and see it for free while spending your money on food and drinks.

Economically the no-cover option doesn't work. Think about it this way: food and drinks have cost. The sale price covers this cost and adds some profit margin. This means that ALL of the $5k cost for the fight has to be covered only by the profit from the food/drink sales. If you throw high and say that each food/drink item has $5 of profit, you need to sell an extra 1,000 beers or food items on top of what you would normally sell on a Saturday night just to break even.

Also, since people will be staying for the fights the restaurant doesn't have the standard in and out flow of customers, meaning each customer needs to buy significantly more for the restaurant to hit the same levels they normally would on a standard night.

Close fight? You and Manny must smoke the same stuff. That was one of Floyd's easier fights.
Many won two rounds and that's only because Floyd put himself against the ropes. When he was against the ropes, most Manny shots were blocked.
Floyd completely took Manny out of his normal style of boxing and made him fight HIS fight, that my friend is "schooling".

Like I said before, points. Mayweather does not fight, he boxes. He will go for any points, whether it will be a little love tap or a hard straight to the jaw. That's just the boxer he is. He doesn't care to "Wow" the crowd like the previous boxing greats, he only cares about the technical aspect and just wants the win. Manny's performance was quite weak as well, throwing only 429 punches. That is completely unlike a typical Manny fight. He let Mayweather take the lead of the fight and that is what contributed to his demise. All in all, I was disappointed in the fight and wanted to see someone get knocked the fuck out, didn't care who.

mayweather has 6 fucking inches of reach on the little filipino. how the hell do you overcome that? 2 or 3 inches maybe. but 6? hell no. its a shame too. mayweather is such an arrogant douche.
