    Sunglasses?

Long time Oakley user here. Currently my prescription glasses are Oakley frames, and they are the best I've had yet. Survived being run over even.

That said, I purchased the wifey a set of Oakley Conquest polarized and we are not impressed. Advertised as some special metal frames, they feel plastic. They feel cheap, like something that could have been purchased from wal-mart.

So, what other brands should we look at? Ready to branch out because I get the feeling that Oakley is heading down the greedy road of sacrificing the quality that made them for the almighty profit margin. This piece of garbage is going back.

I've always had good luck with Salt frames. Expensive as large dong, but they look rather nice on the face.

I've been rocking these for the past few years. I don't see myself buying expensive sunglasses until I have a substantial job.

Shop Knockaround today for the classic style of the Fort Knocks sunglasses. Each pair of these comfortable shades are designed to be durable & form-fitting.

When I was in high school, I sold large quantities of drugs. Then large quantities of pirated workout DVDs, then large quantities of Language software, now I sell large quantities of shipping containers. For the first time in my life, I am conducting business legally. And to be quite frank, it's much harder to make money legally than it is illegally. For this reason, I buy expensive things "for the company" as they offer me tax incentives or write-offs.

So $700 prescription glasses? Sure why not.

I love my Serengeti's. Circa 2008..... so much so I have 2 more nos pairs in my underwear drawer got when these finally give up the ghost our get lost. Seems to me the styling is going the trendy cheap looking route in recent years. That said the lenses are some of the best, mine are the 555 Gray tinted and unlike Oakley the polarization film does not start to peel off after a couple of years.....

Oakley is owned by Luxottica I believe, same as about half the designer sunglass makers out there that you see day to day. I haven't had any in years but I wasn't the impressed with their designs lately.

These days I have probably 20 pair of cheap sunglasses from like nike, puma, Kenneth cole etc. and 3 pair of ray-bans that I wear mostly. The ray-bans I am kind of getting annoyed, the arm on my gold color aviators is corroding in the ear piece which is clear. Not exactly happy there.

I prefer Carreras, not horribly common or expensive, great quality, and I have fond memories of my Pops wearing them in the '80s. Right now I have the Carrera "Hot" in tortoise I picked up for a steal a while back and I love them, but mostly I'm fine with rockin' generic aviators from the mall kiosk. I refuse to spend stupid money on sunglasses these days.

Some Oakleys are nice but it seems like a crap shoot anymore, I wouldn't buy another pair I couldn't hold in my hand first, and overall I just don't feel the quality is there for what you pay.

They are, so is Ray Ban...I bought a pair of original Bans with the glass G ad hook wire frames(before Lux bought them out).
