My job is awesome. The people I work with are the best. I was prepared for the worst and ended up with the complete opposite. If I had to gripe, I would cite the lowish pay, lack of health benefits, and eventual realization that I need to find a "real job." But for an in-between gig, it can't get better than this.

So, something I have ALWAYS been very particular with when considering and accepting job offers is who I work for and with. I have to work with people that I can at anytime go have a beer with and be happy, I also am a very independent person when it comes to work and try to make sure the people I work for agree with that when I am asking questions in interviews and during prehire discussions. I have yet to have a boss I didn't get along with and didn't respect, I have had someone in my company that was being promoted (older man very experiences and very qualified) I told my current boss if I would be moved below him I would quit that day. I know that getting along with people you work with on a beyond work personal level is very important, I can have arguments and disagreements with people I work with but being able to leave the office and golf, drink, go to a game and blow off steam together we all know that it isn't personal and get along outside of the office alleviates the stress when the next huge blow up argument occurs.
I also get school paid for which I enjoy and will finish my second masters in year or so, then will consider law school as well which they would pay for as well.2011 JGC daily, 1985 944Comment

I hate my job. I work in the advisory department of a large public accounting firm and the job I was promised is far different from what I actually do. The pay is very good, benefits are great, but the day to day tasks I am responsible for are terrible. I have a mini existential crisis at least once a week on the way to work. I need a change.

I need a job...
Although to some peoples surprise, Discount Tire is an awesome place to work. I worked there for a little over a year before I left home for college and I was sad to go. The people I worked with were all around my age and fun as hell to work with, for being in highschool $12.50/hr was awesome, 2 bonuses a year, days go by fast with hard work, and customers are for the most part awesome.
Also worked for a communications company that a family friend owns while I was home for Christmas break, hated it. I was getting paid $10/hr to basically run cat5 wire through buildings with a 45 year old dead beat ass hole coworker. Never again.
Last job I was under the wing of a guy who was running a small German repair shop by himself and got fired from that.. I loved the job, he was an awesome role model, I just made too many tiny mistakes that costed him time and customer patience. I never costed him money like breaking parts, but I was learning and left a hose clamp loose and the intake bellow came off while the customer was driving.. SO I fucked that up but I really did love it.Last edited by Zreberlcoe; 06-05-2015, 02:43 PM.1991 325i Calypso Coupe
