I rev match and lift while upshifting. It does make a difference. Also, move the clutch to the A button, then it makes shifting infinitely easier. Just press A and (X/B) at the same time, perfect shift.

It's too late in my forza career to start mixing up buttons.

How much do you you take away from the squares on each turn?

Ran a 2:20, I have to mess with tuning a bunch. Will update time later with proof.

They're a good general guide, but I dunno, I don't pay them much mind. I get "bad" scores on a number of corners, but maybe that's just because my line sucks.

So I misread this question and thought you asked how many squares I got, so I did six more laps to see. Um, lap six:

              2:14.971

I'm uploading a video of the lap with telemetry though, so that might be informative!

Here's the video of my lap. Now, it's taken off my old, crappy TV with my slightly damaged phone, but hopefully it can help some. Also, I hope everyone is using an 8,000rpm rev limit.

You run tighter lines which I suppose I can try. I'm always scared to clip the apexes and get a dirty lap.

I just found out the hard way where I could and couldn't be, usually in one or two laps. Just move a bit farther off than usual and check to see if the hazard symbol flashes.

2:19.879 is the best I can do now. To be honest o feel like they're pretty fast laps. I don't imagine being able to use the clutch would take off 4 or 5 seconds

It's a bit screwed up, but using the clutch actually gives a small boost in straight-line speed as well as improving shifting. Incentive, I guess. I'd say all else being equal, it's worth as much as 2 seconds a lap?

Best I could muster after 2 hours of driving. Elva your description and video were very helpful, as usual.
