I have a set of steelies from my mom's old outback. Too bad you're not local. I think they're 16x7. You could have them for $50.Leave a comment:

small update, thought i had a non-working heater/ac switch controls, took it apart and cleaned all the soda and starfucks out of it and worked perfect 50%of the time, so door would get stuck or could not turn on defroster. took it apart again all connections and solder points were good.
oh well it drives, a few weeks later get a new battery and works 100% now. so if your having weird electrical issues and your hardware looks correct check your battery.Leave a comment:

that is great info. thank you for posting this. This video is pretty interesting even though it's so monotone and what not. Subaru is really in a class of it's own.
their symmetrical 4wd is no joke.Leave a comment:

does this car use a viscus coupling in the transfer case? if so, i would just bite the bullet and buy 4 tires. they are much cheaper than a transfer case rebuild. it sucks but that is the price of a awd vehicle.Leave a comment:

the gaskets were replaced last year, so im hoping these ones will last a hot minute. so first bad thing i dont like about subis....buying all 4 tires at once. someone forced me onto a rock on a one lane rd. and slit the side wall. really was hoping 2 would work but nope looks like its all 4 :( unless you guys think i could get away with two? tires are pretty new but the PO bought them during closeout so they dont make them anymore. so would have to be a different model tire.
was thinking put the tires with most tread on rear then new tires on front so they wear a little faster to even outLast edited by kickinindian; 07-20-2015, 09:09 PM. Dude, sweet pick up! I drive an '07 Sports XT Fozz, and it's the best 5sp lesbian wagon a man could ask for. Super reliable and much faster than my E30 (lol but really). The HGs after '06 were said to be 'fixed' due to a change in head design. From what I've seen, anything pre will have problems at 150K - ish if it's going to have issues, but as it's been previously stated, if you maintain it, it'll be fine.

Subaru is really in a class of it's own.more than likely, i am going to be spending a good deal of time in denver this winter. as i result, i started looking at these and other 4wd vehicles. another model i have my eye on is the toyota 4runner. they seem more versatile. as a result, i think i will look for a 'yoda instead. that way i can drive the mtech back to houston and keep it out of the snow.

blew out a sidewall on my way to the lake today thanks to some idiot driving down the center of the road, it was ether hit them or kill the tire, gotta love idiot drivers! i dont want to lift it a ton just enough to get those small A/Ts under there.Leave a comment:

Maintenance is key. Take care of it and your issues will be minimal.
Also I saw this other day and made me want one really bad.

There's a company that makes lift kits in the form of riser blocks for pretty cheap. They have a pretty large aftermarket and following so you should easily find what you want.
here's some good stuff

People say that the HG likes to blow, but honestly that's the case with subarus that were poorly taken care of or with people that didn't either replace oil as recommended, or that never checked the oil levels. We all know turbo anything burns a bit of oil, and we ALL know that turbo SUBARUS burn even more oil; but even the N/A subarus burn a bit of oil (for various reasons). Keep it well maintained, CHANGE THE COOLANT, and keep up with oil changes and you'll have yourself a generational subaru.
PS. I'm not too sure wtf is going on with Eevee fanatic over here tho.... We all know Eevees, and all evolutions thereof, suck.Leave a comment:
