If you've never done a track day on a bike, you're going to be really stoked. Get ready to have another really expensive hobby. Track days on bike make everything else look boring - driving, street riding etc. I've done a few over the years and have done 5 this year and am totally addicted. Its expensive, but there isn't anything I've done that is more fun. Last track day I was at, there were 4 Daytons 675s!
Definitely get frame sliders though. It will save you a lot of $$ in case something bad happens.
So THAT's where all the 675s are. Must feel like home at the track :)

That's a sweet bike. For some reason when I look at yours, I want to put my passengers pegs back on.
<= Jealous. :(
Off Topic - Who do you go with for insurance?
hm... I was just thinking of pulling them off
I have AAA. My policy has my '87 IS and 928 as liability only. The bike has full coverage. My insurance is about $1000/yr and i'm pretty sure i have at least one point on my record. I LOVE AAA and will be staying with them for many many years to come.
Edit: I'm 22 years old and i'm on my own policy. I had freeway and mercury before and they were at least 2x as much.
Thanks for the compliment

another good point is to have a bike trailer when you go to the track. This way you can mount the slicks on and in case of a fall or mechanical failure safely bring the bike home without going nutts trying to figure out what to do.
I've been to the tracks all over east coast and it is an amazing experience. If you think you know how to ride you will be in for a surprise when you'll get on a track for the first time. But that is the only way to learn!
