I got one as a birthday present, to be honest there isnt a ton to do with it yet.
There are a few things that I really like though. I am in meetings a lot with my phone down or in my jacket and feeling texts come through on my wrist and being able to discretely read them is nice. Also nice is when my phone is somewhere in my house or car or where ever I dont miss a call since it will buzz on my wrist (I prefer not to tell people that because when I ignore their calls I dont want them knowing that I did see it lol).
One other thing that is really nice because I am always in between one meeting or another is I have the screen set up in modular, so it shows the weather, date, time, stocks and also right in the middle it has my next appointment from my outlook calendar. So every time I look at the watch I can see where I am going and what room its in. It also pops the reminder before with full detail.
Other then that its a toy, I do play with it to turn on and off my lights in my apartment with homekit, but until the developers fully get around it there wont be much stuff.
Would I have bought it if I had to pay for it? Not sure, not convinced enough yet, but as I get used to the few features I talked about above I think I would miss them.
I do enjoy having everything come to my wrist for quick glances.
I would love for the drawing feature to spread over to iPhones and pads. Everyone would be all over it then. I'm hoping some developers from major car audio/alarm systems would develop an app so I can unlock my car as I get close. Maybe I should shut up and develop that myself.
I have one! Space grey/Black 42mm. I had some gift card left over and ended up only being $100 out of pocket for it. I use the text/email notifications more than anything. It is really nice to see the txt without taking out phone, like when I am driving.
The ping feature to find the phone is nice as well. I am looking forward to more development of apps.
