went to visit my cousin, lives in an apartment complex that requires a parking permit.. stayed over one night, next morning.. i got a parking ticket.. i can appeal the citation online, so whats a sharp excuse?

That may or may not hold water....depending on how well you can substantiate your reason(s) - they make ask that you to produce some kind of receipt/records indicating you have since got the car fixed.....something material since the court just won't take your word for it. You are clearly at fault for getting the ticket - you parked in an area that required a permit and you lacked one. So who issued you the ticket anyway? Apartment complex security or did the local PD write you up?

Parking citations, for the most part, are cheap to resolve...unless you get one for parking in a handicap space (that's ~$270 in Calif). If were talking about $20 or $30 here just cough up the dough and move on.

I got a 30 dollar ticket for being too far away from the curb. Just wasn't paying attention.

All you have to do is go stick it on someone elses car. Either they wont read it and go pay it, or they will call in and say they got a ticket and its not for their car. Then all you do is 2 weeks later show up at City Hall and say you think you got a parking ticket but your not sure. They will look it up to see if you have one.

One time when I went in, the lady said something like "you dont have any parking tickets due, but the last 11 were canceled."

You only have to pay it if the guy chucks the ticket and dosnt do anything.
