    Motorcycle equivalent to an M3?

If you could recommend a bike to an M3 enthusiast, what would you suggest?

I was looking at everything from large displacement scooters to cruisers, but a sport bike just seems to fit the bill. I have a few years of riding a few different styles of bikes. I'm a very conservative rider who always errs on the side of caution.

I dont' mind taking breaks periodically, and I'm not for going on longer journeys. Nothing more than a backpack is all I'd need.

I'm physically fit, 150lbs, and 5'8". no back pain etc.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Honda VFR. No doubt in my mind. All-day comfort...superb handling...legendary durability...good factory support...aftermarket vendors...community of owners. Just fix the regulator problem with a Shindengen FET regulator, a VFRness and you'll be all set. The Honda V4 is a jewel of a motor. Beemers are fine machines, but pricey.

I'd go for one of the gear-driven cam models just for the intoxicating sound. I own a '95 (3rd gen, last of the carb'd bikes). I prefer CV carbs to fuel injection on bikes since they're so much easier to troubleshoot and a little less touchy to the throttle. If fuel injection is more your speed, Honda built the VFR800 as well.

                    good question!

I was thinking something kinda nimble with oodles of tq. Not a fan of buzzy engines that you really have to push to get the power out of them (no e30 m3).

I still like being able to tinker, so maybe a bike with a center stand?

                        I've owned a zx6r, cbr600, ridden Harleys, gsxrs, and a modified hayabusa.

CBR was my favorite. Refined, stable, and comfortable (for a sport bike.)

Still can't really compare a car to a bike in any way though. A BMW M3 to any modern sport bike is like comparing a NASCAR to Formula 1.

Any sport bike from the last 15 years will absolutely murder anything this side of Ferrari 488, in speed/fun/agility.

The modern ones (last 10-15 years or so) are all so close in performance it's about what is the most comfortable to you and you like the styling of.

retain according to CBB online is 5900. Seller won't budge on price much, mostly because of the recent tire replacement
