graveshaker - You misheard, they were talking about Ben/Kylo (their son) named after Obi-wan Kenobi/Ben Kenobi surely. Lei wanted Han to bring their son back to the light.

I like Kylo, all the previous darkside leaders have hardly showed any remorse or emotion, apart from vader and only at the end of his life. that's exactly why I like kylo the most thus far, he shows more than just an evil front, shows he doesn't have everything under control. that and his saber/mask combo is the most bad ass set up.
Oh I agree, he's not some master sith lord, he's essentially a kid with outbursts of anger and internal struggles. He'll be much darker in the next one for sure, I think we will still see twists with his character later. He may become Darth Revan?

I just want to see an epic bad guy again but we're gonna have to wait till early 2017 at the very least. It's character building, I'm just impatient.

For example - Maul was, but he didn't really talk or be fully utilized - he could have been twice the character he was. Grievous was, but then they made him weak and more of a pawn, as Count Dooku was smart and calculated, but wasn't scary. Snoke is scary and likely who Sidious was talking about to Anakin when he said his master was able to beat death, but I wonder how active he is as he's disfigured/old and we've only seen his hologram sitting.

If anyone has seen the Clone Wars series. I think it would be cool if say Maul's brother/kind were brought in. Savage Opress or others. I don't see it happening though as it's in a different timeline.

Snoke specifically picked kylo ren because he has this confliction. He wanted someone who was able to become corrupted, and has training in the light side of the force as well. I believe he is going to be extremely powerful in the movies to come, as will Rey and Finn. All of them are young with their training still/havn't even started.

I saw someone mention, and I believe this theory as well, but Snoke is Darth Plagueis. Before Han dies, he tells his son Snoke is just using him for his power, and Plagueis is known for his powers to bring people back to life, and possibly himself as well (Palpatine mentioned he was killed by his student). Plagueis wants to achieve immortality, and will try to transfer himself into kylo ren, a younger and eventually more powerful being.

That's what I was referring to as well. Sidious/Palpatine hinted at it.

That would be very interesting to see, and would make for a great villain.

I give it a solid 8/10. Seen it twice now. The film hit all the right notes. My only problem was the now THIRD super weapon. They really need to stop relying on this particular schtick. Outside of that, very well done effort... now to wait a year and a half for Episode VIII. SIGH

as a big star wars fan, i liked it. it was great to see old characters/ships, etc. and didnt seem overly done as just random 'cameos'. (the end seemed like it needed a little tweaking though, like they ran out of time and were like 'yeah, thatll work')

so, ive been saying since opening day, rey is definitely lukes kid, theres more than enough hinting at it in the movies.

but today my buddy sent me a page from some of the comics, Kylo Ren refers to Rey as his cousin.

BOOM. All my friends doubted it, "too cliché" my GF says noooooo she is probably just like Anakin, just strong with the force no family ties.

They look off the charts to me.

A character like Opress would be awesome. I would see this new star wars just to see ahsoka tano again. Unless in disney's new 'rebels' she dies somewhere...

Roller Coaster of emotions. I thought Abrams would have fucked it but he did a good job. 9 out of 10.

I would put money on Rey being Luke's kid. The whole thing with the light sabers calling to her is a dead giveaway. And her dreams with the ocean and the island. Come on people, she's Luke's.

Favorite part was how all the fighters sounded authentic. Mmmm.

Finally saw it, +1 on Rey being lukes daughter.

I think everyone is being pretty damn harsh on it, expecting it to be better then the original. Plus the main difference I noticed was just the filming style, its a lot different then the original.

My only gripe is I felt the story felt too similar to EP 4/5 mix, and it almost felt as if it was one stage the whole time, just following around the same 2 characters. Verses the old films had that nice switching between different characters throughout the film to get a nice overview on the plot from all sides.

                              I'm giving it a 7/10.

I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I'm a big science fiction geek. Really, the only reason I kind of like Star Wars is seeing all the different settings/locations, the droids, the force, and the special effects are good. But, the writing, dialogue, acting, and character development are terrible. The editing and the pacing don't feel right.

I think the Force Awakens tried cramming in too much action and completely ruined the pacing. There wasn't enough character development and the settings were never really established. There were a couple good moments, but I left the theater unsatisfied.

Finally saw it, I thought it was great. I've always been a big star wars fan since watching the originals as a kid on VHS. I think they did a great job setting up the movie so that anyone who is a fan can relate to the old movies and see how tings have unfolded in the last 30 years. But it also gave enough back story for any who hasn't seen a star wars movie to understand what's going on and still enjoy it. That's just something I feel they had to do, and why this movie felt very similar to episode IV.

I do think they left a lot of room for character development for the next movie too. Rey has to be Luke's daughter or in some way tied into a powerful Jedi. I mean she could also be Obi-Wan's granddaughter, but that's a long shot. I'm excited to see what she'll be like after getting trained by Luke and learning the ways of the Jedi. I feel Luke has learned more and will be a better teacher since his search for the first Jedi temple. I think we will be seeing and getting more information about the Jedi order and its origins as Luke teaches Rey. Same thing for dark side, I feel we will learn more about it than we already know while snoke finishes Kylo Ren's training. Kylo is the opposite of the Jedi code from what we have seen of his character so far, rash outbursts, ignorant, emotional, ect. Now that he is currently all banged up from his fight with Rey I think he'll be more darth vadorish needing some sort of automated limb, or suit. I mean he was in a great deal of pain after Chewie shot him and I think because he was hurt it's the only reason Rey was able to win against him.

I do think that Snoke is Darth Plagueis in some way shape or form. It only makes sense, Sith lords always come in twos according to Yoda. It also makes sense to why using Kylo Ren, he was trained by Luke, Snoke obviously wouldn't be able to teach him much initially since he is weak right now or so it appears. But now that Kylo knows the basics he can start learning the more advanced techniques of the force that Snoke is able to show him.

That's just what I feel is going to happen in the next movie... Man I'm excited for another now!!
