What i dont understand is why he would put all that work into the moving body panels etc, and yet fashion this shitty control panel screwed down with wall board screws and switches that are not squarely set. Aside from the hideous nature of the car i was admiring the hard work that was put into it, untill i saw that panel..

This is what happens when you live in the desert, have a lot of money, and have nothing to do.

Not for my tastes, but that's a heck of a lotta work.

How many people have rotating doors? I'm sure this will be the "new thing" soon.....

When we see this kind of stuff we go WHA? They go WOW! You have now entered into the realm of growing old, my young friends. Well maybe not Digitalwave.

              You know what's unfortunate though?

The muscle car and classic antique guys are fading... they are getting older and they need to pass it on to the youth. Now there is a young crowd into the older muscle and classic cars, but nowadays everybody is into the hi-tech.... Like i said it's unfortunate. I wonder what's going to happen next

It's all cycles - the hot rod culture began @ 1948, the muscle car culture began @ 1985, the ricer culture began @ 1993. All had things in common when they began, the cars/parts were cheap & with your own labor you could make a personalized car for not much $$, they attracted "car guys". As the 2nd generation began to be able to afford the previous "cycle" prices went crazy - let's use hot rod culture as an example, 1948-@1980 prices go up moderately, new muscle car cycle begins (affordable cars) hot rod prices begin to see frantic increases ie. Boyds/Foose, Barrett Jackson - the $100,000+ hot rod. The original hot rod guys ("true car guys") begin to die off & are replaced the big buck "look at me" guys in that cycle.

The same progression is happening in all 3 cycles - one look at Hemi prices shows that - 1970 hemi Cuda $5000 in 1985, same car $1,200,000 in 2006.
"True car guy" replaced by "look at me guy".

As the price of old BMW's begins to climb two things begin to happen - the entry level guy is forced out & buys a 85 civic to customize - the guy who does stay in R3V cycle matures, makes more $$ & ends up with $20K in his car or jumps to an E28M5 or finds that E30M3 he has always dreamed of.

"true car guys" & "look at me guys" have entirely different motivations & tend not to get along. Read this board for more than a week & you'll see what I mean.

I don't know why you would expect the muscle car love to live on... when we are old, the ricer fade is going to live on.

I wouldn't worry, these things are cyclical. Look at the e30. old vdubs and porsches. American muscle is just starting to come back again with the release of the "throw back" cars. American muscle will always be around. It is harder to restor an old camaro than bolt some hinges to your honda, but I have noticed the Trans ams from the 70s and the cutlass from the 80s coming in to style. I wouldn't worry like I said, the Atlanta rap game will keep old american muscle cars in style!

All that work, yet the hood doesn't fit together, that interior gauge panel looks like shit, they didn't put any of the inside trunk panels on...

If only the rear tires could sit as well as the front.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and nice roll job on those rear fenders
