I keep them in daily service now, replace them and the old ones are just for back up.

Yes, I have just depends on the brand and who does the rebuild. My Rebuilt Jumpers are every bit as comfortable as when they were all BRAND NEW, the only part that gets reused is the uppers. With a resole if its done right its going to take a couple weeks to break that back in so yeah its going to be a little odd for a little while.

I know when I have my winter gear on and my normal every day shit in my pockets and what not I am pushing 2k worth of shit just on my body. I love being openly mocked by the guy wearing a 200 dollar pair of Ecco's or some other mid range foot wear, for what I have on my feet when just going out for dinner or shopping or something. (my middle management cousin has done this several times and I just let him think what he wants) I like to ask them if they think they could be comfortable in those shoes for 36+ hours straight, smirk and walk away.

    I love my boots :)

They look great. I like that they seem relatively low profile. Their website says their waterproofing is "10,000mm" though and I'm not sure that's enough. We get a decent amount of snow here and I'd like something I can daily.

Those have a 360-degree Goodyear welt, they look like they would withstand a lot of abuse. I have not personally owned a pair, I switched from Wolverine to Red Wing years ago and have never looked back. Worth EVERY penny.

Just read up on the Goodyear welt, thank you. Without knowing it, it seems to be a common factor in the boots I happen to like. My current boots have lasted me every winter day for over a decade, but are beat.

My current boots are way too bulky though. It's very tough for me to drive a manual transmission car in them. I'd like to upgrade to something less bulky.

The Wilcox boots look great, my main concern is aforementioned waterproofing. They are ~30% less money than the Red Wings which I'm into, which are these:

Iron Ranger (probably a no go, sole doesn't look snow-friendly)

          Blacksmith

          and Beckman Round

I read a snippet about Red Wing using Sympatex waterproofing, and how it was supposedly much less breathable than Goretex.

My feet get pretty toasty, if this is true perhaps they might not be the best choice? Or is the waterproofing only on their work boots, I can't really find any info on waterproofing for the heritage boots?

My wings are gortex, and I love them. Steel toe but never uncomfortable.

Previously I was a huge fan of Timberland Pro Pit Boss boots. Iv worn out a whole bunch of pairs. They were good, and always lasted a long time. Still have an older set in the closet as back up boots.
I recently moved up to WA and needed something lighter for doing a lot more climbing and ladder work, and they needed to be water proof too. I picked up a set of these Wolverine 6" Wolverine Marauder boots. Love them! Light with a composite toe, warm but not to warm, and water proof. Best boots I'v ever owned for the kind of work I do. They are light enough and flexible enough to go hiking in.
Only upgrade I think they need is some of those glue on rubber toes so I don't scuff the toes off.

Not used in the Heritage line.

Does the heritage line use any waterproofing?

Surprised it's a tough thing to find via their website or google for the heritage

Is someone able to identify these boots?

I really like them. I have a similar pair but they aren't leather. I'd like to move up into leather boots since I have a motorcycle and I value my ankle skin.

Many manufacturers make a boot similar in style. Check out Thorogoods. It is good to try some brands.. all have their own FL touch and even fit.

Maybe a more keen eye and boot love can ID then from the photo.

ROOKIES and your so called "boots".

if there's one thing I know, is extreme cold.

I worked up in Iqualuit Nunavut/Rankin Inlet back in the day.

it's not uncommon to have temps hit the -60C mark during the cold/dry spells of Feb.

the only boot to have up there, IF you braved the outdoors where Baffin Endurance Extreme's.

^ +1 those would be great for standing in the woods waiting for a deer to walk-by in the morning.

I live in warmer climate and have these:

                              Keen Gargoyle

First year using them, we will see how they last.

Rookies? Lol different environments. Those might keep your feet warm, but would be shredded within a month where I work. The only thing that holds up to a environment where you are in less than desirable positions against concrete, oil, diesel fuel, ect. Is leather. That's it, cloth and plastic have no place in my world.
