Fastest way your prolly not going to like.

Step 1: put on your normal sock (hopefully not cotton) and place what ever insole your going to use in the boot. Take you time in arangeing your tounge, and laces and lace tightly, not so tight its going to make your foot numb but tight enough.

2: Fill 5 gallon bucket about 2/3-3/4 full of fairly hot water, and pour in a 1/2 a bottle or so of isopropyl alcohol.

3: place foot in bucket until soaked all the way though I/E soaking wet, remove that foot and do the same to the other......

4: Wear them ALL DAY until 100% dry, not just the uppers but the welt area as well, make sure you do NOT take them off until they are dry, or your going to make it that much worse on your self. Its going to hurt your foot, its going to be miserable, and its going to suck. Once they are dry, pull them off treat them with a good leather preservative and let your feet recover, the next day they will fit perfect.

Now all that said, I didnt find any information on how the leather is tanned, so you may not need to use the Iso to help soften the leather if its been chrome tanned, just the water will do.... I use Obanauf's LP and boot oil on mine and nothing else, especially anything thats got petroleum in it. There are some other good all natural products out there but I am sticking with what I know works

I've never done anything special with new boots (Redwings)
Just replaced a pair earlier this summer. Bought them on Sunday and wore them to work Monday.

yeah 98% of boots on the shelves dont require much of a break in. The foot bed and mid sloes are made of rubber ( or other synthetic material) and steel, and the leather is already been killed by the tanning process making it very soft and pliable. They do this so there is very little to any break in time, after all with our instant gratification society a new pair of boots should be comfortable and not hurt your feet, after all they are new right, but do so at the expense of longevity/durability and long term comfort....

Some of the vintage/heritage style redwings and the 1000 mile from Wolverine, some of the old school US made Danners, etc... are made in a more traditional way, with materials and construction so they take a bit longer to break in, then your average off the shelf work boot. I wore redwings and wolverines for a long time, as kid and early adult career and never had "memorable" break in but had to be replaced ever 8-10 months normally due to the toe splitting or the welt seams splitting. I have yet to have a seam split, or a wear a hole in the leather on a pair of Whites, just get the factory to fix what ever needs it when I wear the soles out and send them in for a resole/rebuild. ever 3-4 years.

Wow that is quite the process (dipping). I probably won't be trying that.
The leather doesn't feel awfully stiff, but the last time I bought boots was almost 10 years ago (red wings) so I don't remember how those were when new.
Just got them today, and happy with my choice!

jesus kronus, I would almost be afraid to put a shot of grease on those fearing the dry brittleness is the only thing holding them together.. Seriously get some thing on them....

Port: Yeah those dont look like they would be that uncomfortable and take that long to break in the old fashioned way with having a rubber midsole like that.

Those posted above + glue on mini vibram sole do not a loggers boot make. You want loggers boots you need a set of Caulks (pronounced cork) boots, with a bunch of steel cleats in the bottom. Get into some of the of way out there bars around here and there are signs on the doors NO CORK's.
                            Caulk boots

Forester's /wild land fire / work boot, see no spikes. Good multi use boot.

No logger I know would dream of wearing pants like that, Nearly all my neighbors make a living in the woods still ( and given whats going on around here that is kinda amazing) so I know a good number of actual loggers

                            And then there is this

Just dug my whites rebuilds outta the back of the closet, where they have been for the last 2 years, and startling to break them back in for a job to start in a few weeks. My other pair getting really close to a resole, so rather than have them break down on a job, I might as well break out the "new" ones for it and have the others fixed up a bit
