Arches on the pre 88 cars are higher, may not be the right year to the T... shoot me! Look at the body lines, the distance between the ribbed detail on the pre 88s is further away from the top of the arch then post 88 cars.

Ive owned two 84s, a 91 and an 88 with a swap. Plastic bumpers, lower arches and bigger tails all the way. The old tails are so poorly lit that its no surprise when i see one of the big bumperd cars that have been rear ended at yards. Funny thing is, the bumper can almost always be unbolted and fitted to another car without any reconstruction [yes, exaggeration] As for plastic, id pass up some nice plastic bumpers for euros, harder to find the more you want it.
