People that sit near the restoom at restaraunst

Paint that bowl like Picasso's painting the chapel.

But srsly. I usually sit away from the restroom too. Nobody wants to smell what you just left. It does how ever suck to have walk through a crowed of people trying to find the bathroom when you gut is ready to explode.

I've never thought about this topic.

Also pooping is something to be done at home as much as possible. At work is the only exception.

Never paid attention to the restroom location until I needed it. But damn you for this thread, now it will probably be on my radar.

That said, I like to have my back to a wall if I can. No Military, just have a father with pretty bad PTSD who instilled a need to be aware of surroundings. Sorry, getting off topic.

Situational awareness is a good thing.

I am keenly aware of where I sit and where my wife and daughter sit. This can be in a train station or church. At restaurants they are as far away as possible from other guests, unless we are in a booth, of course. My biggest fear is that someone sitting behind my kid will suddenly push his / her seat too far back and unknowingly push my daughter into the table edge, crushing her throat.

I dunno, near me the restrooms in restaurants tend to not be too close to seating areas. At least not close enough to smell/hear anything.

Since we're on this side topic.. I try to poop at work when I can. The toilets at work are much better (read: bigger. We haven't upgraded to male-spec toilets at home yet). I try to poop before going out, especially if I'm going to a concert.. poop-anxiety is just the worst!

However, when I have to go outside of home... that stall is my new home. My home away from home. I put money down on that stall when I'm going - I own that shit. Then I take it all back with me when I get up to leave. If I'm gonna be there, I might as well enjoy it.

This is actually a serious topic. I also find myself getting worked up thinking about "what if they attack me, what can I use to beat them in the fastest way possible" or "what if they say something challenging, how can I prove them wrong" and usually I end up asking myself, is life worth living if I have to worry about shit all the time? And then I rationalize with, life is worth living with THIS amount of paranoia. And then I take a chill pill.

A good analogy to that way of thinking is you're a solitary animal out in the wilderness, on your own, always having to look over your shoulder. It's just uncomfortable. In today's world, anything that might happen to you is either not worth worrying about or too sudden to predict. So I just try to relax

Bingo. 9/10 times you're fine if something happens, but that 10th time you're screwed, and there's probably nothing you can do about it.

Never military or anything but I do the same. My fiance makes fun of me when we go into restaurants that I always like to be in a corner or against the wall. If we are at a table in the middle of the room I naturally site with the cleanest view of the major entrances and exits. Nice to keep an eye on everything no matter where I am.

Bidet master race checking in. I only poop at home. Heated water, heated seat, adjustable pressure, I don't understand why they aren't more popular. Pooping anywhere else feels like I'm transported back to the middle ages as a peasant. It's actually a big downside to travelling, no bidets!

                            Bidet master race, really?

Let's just scroll through the history of wiping:

                            Prehistory: mostly hands, leaves, grass
Early written history: stones, sea shells, sticks
Still pretty darn old history: various man-made/adapted wiping implements
You know, like a long time ago: cloths, early paper products
Modern times: ubiquitous paper products, stand alone bidets
                            Kershaw: electronic bidet

                            Hmm, checks out.

it would be interesting to get servers to comment on this. if the hostess tries to seat me/us near the restroom OR the entrance to the kitchen, I ask for another table. can't stand the foot traffic.

obviously, I'm not the only one. my perception is that servers are assigned a group of tables. since those two locations are the least desirable, are the table groups near them assigned to those servers lowest on the totem pole?

Going number 2 at home is always a more enjoyable experience.

I've never really thought about this either, but if I'm out to eat, I don't recall ever really being near a restroom. Near the kitchen once or twice with a lot of foot traffic and that can suck.

                                Well that got dark fast.

There is situational awareness and then there is that.
