There is a huge difference between a tap on the butt and beating your kids.
Just saying.

Sadly, that's usually the guy who's had it since new and thought he was cool back then and peaked in HS. Still believes he can recapture that glory at some point...

You wouldn't beat your dog, why would you beat your kids? Yeah, we all know your dad was an abusive asshole - so was mine. Doesn't make it right, or that if i don't hit my kids that they'll be shitheads (quite the opposite).Leave a comment:

probably because my parents broke many wooden spoons on my butt and palms over the course of my childhood - until about 13.
I went to Laughlin once. I promised myself I'd never go back as long as I have a choice. I happened to be there during their annual Rigatta-float-down-the river-with-all-your-cousins-day. It was the whitest of all trash thing I've ever had the horror of experiencing. I'll literally drink to forget those nightmares.
And I'm only a little gay - not full blown "I identify as a transgender woman so I can use the ladies bathroom" gay.
But I still get blowjobs so that's cool.Leave a comment:

That is simply not true:

The State of Research on the Effects of Physical PunishmentLong considered an effective, and even necessary, means of socialising children, physical punishment has been revealed to be a predictor of a wide range of negative developmental outcomes. The extent of agreement in the research literature on this issue is unusual in the social sciences. Physical punishment is associated with increased child aggression, antisocial behaviour, lower intellectual achievement, poorer quality of parent–child relationships, mental health problems (such as depression), and diminished moral internalisation.Social Policy Journal article discussing the effects of physical punishment in children and the negative developmental outcomes.

Mothers’ Spanking of 3-Year-Old Children and Subsequent Risk of Children’s Aggressive BehaviorChildren who are spanked frequently at age 3 are more likely to be aggressive when they’re 5, even when you account for possible confounding factors, according to a new study co-authored by Tulane University School of Public Health community health researcher Catherine Taylor.Tulane University is a comprehensive research university in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tulanians see challenges as opportunities, and strive to improve the lives of others in our own community and around the globe.
A study reviewed more than two decades of research on the effects of spanking and found nothing positive to report, only that physical punishment leads to depression and anxiety.

Again, based on what evidence? Your perception and various news articles that repeat the same tired tropes over and over? What can be taught, how it can be taught. The different type of rules and how those rules are implemented within the schools. It all takes its toll. Can say that each decade continues to get more uptight, for better or worse, with one result being that free speech isn't encouraged and critical thinking is not a factor.
Times do change and education helps facilitate change within a society. Just because you don't notice it with your kids doesn't mean it's not working out there with their friends. Brushing it off as just a generational right of passage to complain about the younger generation is being lazy. Im out!Leave a comment:

I'm a millinnial, build date of 03/1989, and I seriously take offense.
OP do not blame me for your lack of education. Scum exists in every generation, every scene, every orientation, and every gender.
You have made a gross generalization that you are entirely unqualified to talk about. I know this based upon my education, profession, and the tone of your post. I wanted to avoid this post entirely, but I cannot. You really need to grow up and quit seeking attention from your elders by shitting on your own generation. It, above all, does not make you cool and at the least makes you look a fool.Leave a comment:
