I am a trainee of sorts at Precision Motorcars. By trainee I mean they through a "bad-engine" '95 540 at me and I replace it... "bad engine" '01 740iL and I replace it... replace VW Thing engine, install and remove 3 times (discovered "new" original engine had issues!), no problem! 15 bucks an hour (comission, not actual time)!
But not a Swedish car, NO!
Anyway, I have been working on a 1996 volvo 860 turdo (miss spelling intended) for about 20 hours... over a 7 day period. I am gettin paid for 20 so it is not a bad situation... Any way, I could not get my head into the damn thing. In my mind a BMW is perfect, especially a V8. Bolts positions are semetrical, and intuitive... Fa;hasd;lkjasd*** a Volvo transverse mount!! Not only that I took some advice from John, the "head tech" that put me WAY off course!!
Dunno y it beat me so badly, but I just started it for the first time in two weeks! I purposely forgot to bolt on the down pipe from the turbo, however... sounded GREAT!! :p
Anyway, that is my rant for the moment
My next job is a '76 911! I can get into that, even if it is hard
