This guy does video game playthroughs. He's fun to watch and mostly does computer versions of gameboy pokemon games. His playthrough of pokemon Go is hilarious

Yea I work with a guy, who has a son, with social anxiety issues or some metal issues of some kind, and is basically a hermit. The game gets him out to socialize with others. I have never ever seen parks so full. Its nice they are actually getting used. Albeit for Pokemon, or some other use.

How old are your kids? If theyre old enough to play themselves you could all go on a walk together and play.

Also one positive (despite having your face glued to a phone) is that Ive already heard multiple stories of people getting active and losing a couple pounds just from all the walking to play.

I have never played Pokémon in my life - never been interested in it. I was of prime videogame playing age when Tetris came out on the Game Boy if that gives you an idea of the passage of time - but I actually wouldn't mind trying this game. Mostly because augmented reality is a cool idea I'd like to try out (I can just imagine what it could do in my industry).

But then reality hits me - I just don't have free time. I spent like 40 hours this past week finishing the floor in my basement and I'm still not done. Then I have 2 kids, a full time job, and part time projects coding DMEs and building a web app. Maybe I'll install it and play it for 5 minutes but I doubt I could ever really get into it..

ironic that theres a game that takes people outside just to still be on their phones and not looking up at the world. i wonder when someone will get run over because there was a pokeman in the middle of the road and they didnt bother to look up and get hit by the driver who was also trying to get that same pokeman...

just another thing the rest of us will have to deal with as people stare at their phones and not at the world around them

Yea, i can tell some people are legitimately aggravated the game exists. For the rest of us, its cool to be nostalgic about a brand a lot of us grew up on, it does get people active (parks are literally filled wit people everywhere i go). I got off work at 6am, and walked around a park for an hour, then continued home.

It needs massive improvements, but it was just released days ago. For me its a 1 or 2 hour time waster at work, I throw it in the mix with Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Clash Royale.

I have my 1 1/2 year old every night, so I can't really go out and play the game much. I still try when I can though. I think it's a pretty cool game, just could use some improvements. But, it's just starting out; so we'll see.
