    Technique: Jamaladeen Tacuma

    Musicality: Marcus Miller
Wish I could do that: Nathaniel East/Johnny Gayden
Best singing bassist: Mark King/Geddy Lee (of course aside from Phil Lynott, who is there?)

Anyone heard about the Irish blues guitarist Gary Moore???? That fucker doesnt miss one note and is very clean. He played with Thin LIzzy for a while. He's definitely up there...... I guess I f I had to choose.....\

(thing is top 5 if full of tieing dudes, so ordering them is the problem.

Page, Moore, SRV, Kossoff, Hammett (UP TO BLACK ALBUM), Santana (non radio played stuff)

When rolling stone did the top 100 guitarists, I think they were off a bit. Curious about people's top five electric guitar, and I think originality, crazy solos, and just awesome skill count. Stern was talking about this last week and I got to thinking. Clapton (minus cream years), shouldn't be on anyone's list.

    mine (in no real order):
Hendrix, Page, Angus, EVH, Walsh or Satriani for a tie

    jaco pastorius gets my vote.

Joke? Yngwie blows Angelo away...ever try to play Angelo's stuff and then try to play Yngwie's stuff? Angelo is like a bunch of exercises played really really fast. Yngwie's technique is god-like.

I was a Van Halen fan back in the day....their material from the late 70s to early 80s was probably their best stuff IMHO.

Metal? I wouldn't have thought of that as metal. Slayer and Megadeth are metal bands. Van Halen is more of a rock band. They just happen to have a bonifide guitar virtuoso on board.

I don't know of any metal players with those kind of chops.

But you are right. Sweet it is!

Cool thing is he taught himself. I think thats why he has so much skill he didnt have the restraints of what was "the way to do it" he just did what he wanted. :)
