          the gears are soo long that it had to be push started? and it takes 11miles to acheive top speed? not impressed.

                Well I think its primary objective was to break the 300mph barrier with diesel power - the previous record was set back in 1973 (230-somthing mph)....so these guys dealt the old record a hammer-blow by just squeaking past 350mph. Veyron-like acceleration was nowhere in the plans. If anything, they could've refined a more effective and efficient means of turbo-diesel set up since these 4-bangers were kicking out a lot of power for their given displacement.

                I'm sure they will walk away from this acheivement with more than just bragging rights.

                  must admit although I have little interest in tricking out trucks, I used to watch the spike show "trucks" on saturday mornings when stacey david used to host. he propane injected a turbo diesel and it looked way cool. Bully Dog I think the system was called.
