Should have been a red flag right there. Anyone who's credit is shitty enough to need one of those places isn't going to be real prompt with payback.

            Name this person's famous brother

If the story is so compelling I'd suggest a very creative blog asking for a dollar.

People like helping especially when you ask for little. I have a strict policy to not give homeless beggars money. One asked me for 11 cents, how can you say no to 11 cents?

Ron Howard. The kid in the pic is his younger brother, Clint. It's from an episode of the original Star Trek.

Can you lay tile? I know a bunch of people who tile for 2-3 days, make $3-$5 grand, and then surf for a week or two.

Offjobs is about the only legal way I can think of.

I don't even LIKE Star Trek. This is just how much of a pop-culture junkie I am.

Same. I'll give them a buck or something, but usually, if I have food, I'll give them that instead. I've found that they're much more appreciative. My wife and I stopped at corner one time, and were eating one of those big 1-lb. bags of Red Vines, and we gave pretty much the whole bag to the guy on the corner. He told us that almost no one gives him food, and that the bag would probably last him weeks.

Ha ha ha, that's like one of George Carlin's "Things to keep people on their toes". Go to a bank with a really, really long line, and when you get to the teller, ask if they have change for a nickel.
