I am getting ready to go to L.A. most likely for a year. The drive is stressful, leaving my Family is stressful, LIFE is stressful. So what would you think I need the least right this second?????

How about my Wife's purse with my Debit Mastercard in it stolen and charged up to the tune of it's 3k limit????

This causes my bank account to be like a rock. I planned to use my copy of the Master card for the trip (the debit component makes it safe as carrying My Platinum Master around is a bad idea here as they can charge 100k+)

Now I have to wait until Saturday for the charge to actually hit so I can dispute it and get that ball rolling.

To make matters worse, the charge shows up as "Mall" no store name so I have nowhere to send the Police.

In addition they got her cc's her driver's license, her Nextel, 1600 pesos (125.00)

Thanks guys it helps having a place to whine. Clearly it was an inside job.

The camera in the room feeds to a computer that was offline during that window of opportunity and also a second purse was stolen, another teacher married to an American.

Further coincidences include:

The person that does the copying is a Doctor waiting to get her accreditation, she takes a medical English class from 11-12.

The "guard"/maintainence person that should have been around just happened to be fixing something and so was not watching the room as he should have.

I feel your pain. My $850 Eclipse head unit, 5 wallets of CD's, and $400 amp were stole OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY as I slept at night. I'm sure the CC company will fix things up for your quick though.

The worst part is the replacing of all her stuff (voter ID card, Driver's license, two ATM cards, three CC's, etc) We just got back from an hour and a half at each bank. grrrrrrrrrrr

As to my card, there is the international component which muddies it. I am hopeful it'll be ok.

I really did not need this shit right now, plus the body shop is dragging their feet, my Truck has been sitting for two days, today they put it out on the street.

Unfortunately stuff like this always happens at the worst possible time... 2 years ago, I was doing an internship down in Wichita. I had planned to finish my internship on a Friday, catch a plane to Vegas for a buddy's bacholer party, then fly back to Wichita on Wednesday, drive home to Chicago, then drive to college the following week.

Well, that all fell apart... I walked out to my car Friday morning, and it was sitting on my jack, with the driver's side wheels stolen. And, I knew I needed to be at work in a 1/2 hour to do my final performance review w/ my boss, and recieve my full time job offer. Of course, he wasn't answering his cell.

So I filed a police report, called the insurance company, and had the car towed to the dealer to get it fixed. Told the insurance adjuster to go look at it Monday, and get the repairs approved so I could return from Vegas on Wednesday and drive the car home.

Of course, in the middle of my Vegas trip, I call the dealer and find out the adjuster never approved the repairs. So, I told them to go ahead an overnight the parts, and bill my credit card.

Long story short, it was extremely stressful, but it all worked out in the end. And whoever stole my wheels, I can only hope they get their (well, my) wheels stolen at the most inoppourtune time. Try to relax as much as possible (its tough), and hopefully everything will sort itself out.

Sorry that happened Jonathan. You are right things work out, My bank will reverse the charges and today they reversed the fees (1% international charge)

The plot as they say thickens. The main charge was at a cel store.

Today my Wife's Mexican CC updated and they used her card also! What greed. Now we have them, this proves the store is involved.

Who buys over 5k worth of phones (3 mine 2 hers) on two different cards???

I am so pissed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!
