Oh I know......thats why there are so many "Medical supply" shops in Glendale and tons of "Cigarettes and Cigars" and head shops in like a 10 square mile radius. How many fucking walkers can people be buying? haha. There are also VERY expensive business properties that you NEVER see customers in yet they have a beautiful inside and display and stuff constantly open. I dunno. 2+2=4 ya know?

The dragstrips that I've been to are open until at least 11pm...I've even seen up to 2am. That's not the problem. I'd be willing to bet that a good chunk of these things don't happen because people go out looking to race (come on - with 4 people in the car?), but because they run up along another new sports car on a late night McD's run.

There's no easy solution...if there even is one.

Street racing is lame as hell. I get people on my back all the time and stay planted in the right lane. Go to bimmerforums and you'll see it's some chivalrous deed to defend your honor on the roadways. Driving hard on the street is way different than street racing. There's a pissing match quality to street racing that is generally absent from the idea of a little spirited driving.

and their age really doesnt have all that much correlation with their ablity to handle the cars or not.... there are some 40 year olds that cant drive for SHIT and have been driving for years. Conversely their inherent need to impress other 40 year olds is likely lower than a horomone fueled teenager. street racing is going to happen.... nothing can change that... even if you remove the cars... they'll race minivans trucks SUVs bicycles segways ....shit me and my buddies race on foot just for kicks sometimes ( made 40 bones one time!!!). its going to happen PERIOD. ive been to a few illegal street races and all of the potentially dangerous things are done by dickheads who feel that doing potentially dangerous shit is the only way to impress their friends/hoodrats... as long as stupid people exist people will die from stupid shit like this
