    Paypal Help ASAP PLEASE!!

    Hey guys,
I have two accounts a 5/3rd and a credit union account. Paypal doesn't recognize my credit union so I can't instant transfer from that account. Well 5/3rd is recognized but I can't send money out of that I don't have in it haha.

So I pay with a credit card, and the seller just got back to me and says that it won't let him take the payment because he is not a business memeber. I told him to become one, easy and free, but no response yet. So how do I cancel a payment? and not pay this guy twice. He seems like a good guy, communication has reached beyond ebay so I think I can get a hold of him any time.

Oo..and to cancel a payment, it says on some "fast help" bubble that I have to get his signature, my signature, and fax it to them with claim papers and beans like that. He's in Texas and I don't have a fax machine handy.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks
    DJ

It may be "easy and free" for him to "upgrade" to a business/premier account, but he probably won't do it when he realizes that Paypal will then take 2.9% + 0.30 or 0.35 cents per transaction once he does this.

YOu should be able to tell him to "deny payment", it will come right back to you and you'll have to figure out how to pay him again.

ALSO: (copied from Paypal site- try the "help" function....)

Can I cancel a payment that I've already sent?

You can cancel only unclaimed payments. If your payment is complete, please contact the recipient of the payment to request a refund.

Unclaimed payments can be canceled for the following reasons:
A payment sent to an email address is not associated with a PayPal account. Once the email address is added to a PayPal account, the payment is automatically credited to the balance of that account.
A payment is sent to a recipient with an unconfirmed email address. For security reasons, PayPal can only credit payments sent to a confirmed email address.

If you cancel an eCheck payment or Instant Transfer, PayPal cannot cancel the withdrawal from your bank account. The amount will be credited to your PayPal account balance.

    Here's How:

    Click theMy Account tab.
    Click the History subtab.
Click Cancel in the Action column of the transaction in question.
    Click Cancel Payment.
You have successfully canceled the payment.

I have the screen up but it doesn't have anything in the action column of the transaction. On step three.

I love paypal and have been using it least since 2002. But.......... paypal has some crazy hangups, some small print that can make problems a royal PITA. Let along their complete lack of *human* technical support.

I once bought a headunit off of ebay in 2002, the seller sent me an empty box. Filed a claim and paypal refused to refund my money. Issued a chargeback and my account was suspended. I finally was able to re-open it by faxing paypal proof that I returned the "empty box" to the seller. The dumbass signed for the box and my account was re-instated.

I could rant some more, sorry for the Off topic.... But if worse comes to worse then just use a chargeback. That's the only way I have ever been able to talk to paypal personally.

We use paypal, personally it has cost me 1000's of dollars, however it is part of running a business!!! 2.9 is a typical percentage rate for business transactions. Just have him cancel it and re send it.

what do you think visa and mastercard charge businesses for their services?

I've had a paypal business account since 2000. I've used it for hundreds of transactions and it's never given me any trouble--guess I'm just lucky?

My business account was also opened in 2000. I had numerous small issues over the years but eventually got them sorted out and mainly the problem was getting rational service from a "human bieng" (loooooong hold intervals).

The death blow was a Nextel transaction. I paid for an i850 Never got it seller vanished, paypal returned the .85 cents in his account gave me a heartfelt sorry for your loss.

I tried to charged it back through my CC for the rest, but I actually had to "steal" the .85 as it is all or nada with a CC chargeback.

Paypal first suspended the account pending their "investigation" which entailed me going to a link to pay them back, no other online alternative! The non mensan on the phone was no help nor was the surley woman at Executive escalations. I refused to pay and they closed the account and still expect me to returm "their" money.

I wish them luck with that.

IMHO CC's (and Paypal) charge a fee for their service, part of that fee is for fraud. CC's understand that and provide that service. Paypal thinks thay don't have to. I was channeling over 3k a month in both directions, I am not even thinking they noticed my loss of revenue but if enough people say ENOUGH to them they will feel it.
