as far as we know the car was being driven in the rain through a canyon at night. ended up on the wrong side of the road and ended with a head on collision. kid said he let his mom drive it while he drove his e36 and that it was a fatality.

never heard much more about it, but we ended up finding it in the local yard.

trust me I know the scam. And is a likely possibility, but what leads me to the land owner conclusion is the fact the tag starts with a 46.... Thats a county code. Most of the shell corps tags are based out counties with the bigger cities in them, Like Billings Bozeman, Helena, Great falls or Missoula. 46 is granite county ( I got Ravalli and granite counties flipped in my head) Hamilton and surrounding areas, like my area are notorious wealthy supper wealthy people vacay home areas and tag lots of cool cars here ( I have seen Diablos, Aston's, every P car know practically, Several DD and winter beater 911S4's and Panamericas, you name its tagged in flathead county) .

Being I had the Counties placement messed up, you win (should have double checked myself *) ) as Hamilton is not in Granite county .... Given then the total lack of population in Granite county its likely they own some type of real property with in it.


Either way the no sales tax and the 249 dollars annual registration fee for a vehicle 4 years old or less in MT = TAX CHEAT when residing in another state. Many state DOT cops have been going after the Motor home owners in camp grounds and even on the highway, when the bus is tagged in MT but the car is taged in the home state, To avoid taxes..
