Big debate? What do you guys think about nevada making weed legal?

Ive known its going to be coming up for a while, but nov 7th nevada is going to vote again to legalize weed.

    As it sits now:

If it went though, anyone can carry under an ounce on them
You have to buy from government stations
Then the same rules of alcohol apply (IE, 21+ no growing, dont sell to minors)

Also, its being back by religious groups :)

What do you guys think, will it pass this time? Opinions not to make it legal? Or vice versa?

interesting indeed. I'd vote for it, not because I smoke pot, well not in recent history, but it would take the criminal aspect out of it and make things safer. Also I beleave that being under the influance of pot is safer than booze.

It should be under the same rules as alcohol, so yes, legalize it.

Maters not, still federally illegal therefore no fruit will come from it. It has been medically legal in many places for years. The feds come in and

NIP IT, NIP IT IN THE BUD.

Weed is far less dangerous than alchohol.

But it will not become legalized.

I agree as far as consumption goes.

Its the drug deals that go bad that makes it more dangerous.

I was not aware of this in Nevada.
                  Rather interesting.

Are you guys crazy? If marijuana is legalized, people will smoke it!

I don't smoke weed, never have a day in my life, but I'm all for it being legalized. If it were legalized, it would need to be regulated, and taxed out the motherfuckin' ass. But it won't ever happen.

Taxed and regulated just like booze and tobacco

                      I agree completely.
Would there be laws against smoking and driving?

The problems i see with weed being legalized is that it will be easier for young minors to get a hold of and start abusing it, which is very bad for their brains which aren't finished developing. I also bet the number of older, mature college students abusing weed will rise. I don't want to say that I outright oppose it because it's not any different than alcohol, yet it's just another substance that people our age and younger will be exposed to earlier, and not everybody is going to have the same degree of self-control, which could be disasterous for some individuals who find themselves with an addiction.

I disagree. Go to your local high school and take a look at all of the pot smoking teens there. Just because it is illegal does not meen that nobody can get it. All of the people that want to smoke pot, know how to get it. Legalizing it won't change the amount of young people doing it very much.

I think it would be a great thing.

Weed is infinitely less harmful to society than alcohol. When did you see two pot heads get high and beat each other up, drive like bats out of hell, rape people, and vandalize property? You didn't, because their stoned asses were eating cheeto's watching star trek re runs.

The government could also regulate the stuff, which would increase consistancy and remove the chances of getting something that is laced with shit you don't want. This would make it safer.

Tax revenue is another benefit of this.

The problem I see our country facing is that it's like teenage sex. People tell their kids its bad, assume their kids don't engage in it, and preach abstinence. Fine, but that isn't going to stop kids from fucking like rabbits. So we got smart and started teaching sex ed, giving out condoms, planned parenthood, etc, and it dropped the teen pregnancy rate. Go figure?

If we as a society realized that a good portion of those around either have or do smoke pot and for the most part it has not negatively changed their lives, we could stop having it be mystified into this monster that would ruin society if available to the masses.
