If it's taxed and regulated I dont see why it would be a bad thing. Its not like weed isnt already readily available in the vast majority of states, and it's not like Kids arnt already smoking it. Atleast this way the state MAKES money instead of losing it trying to fight a unwinable "drug war". Plus the regulation would reduce the number of people growing, prices, and the black market aspect. If anything I could seee it reducing crimes, if not strictly because all the arrests pertaining to having marijauna would no longer exist.

I disagree. Simply enough...ask a junior high kid which is easier to score, Weed or Booze. You and I both know weed is easier. If weed has the same legal ramifications, it too will become harder to find.

Hopefully, this won't lead to an increase in huffing!

This is true.. I remember being able to buy weed at school but it took hours of running around after school finding someone to finally buy booze. But if you think about it. Weed is a lot easier to hide in your pants than a 6 pack of Bud Light.

I say legalize all drugs. The people who want to kill themselves with drugs are going to do it regardless might as well let the government get the tax money from it instead of spending billions on the "War Against Drugs" which is a total joke.

Id vote for it. I used to smoke but have outgrown it but I am against regulation of what peopl can do. If they want to live in their moms basement, get high, and try to prove that GW Bush shot JR then its up to them. Then again, I am also against us supporting said assholes.

Weed is infinitely less harmful to society than alcohol. When did you see two pot heads get high and beat each other up, drive like bats out of hell, rape people, and vandalize property? You didn't, because their stoned asses were eating cheeto's watching star trek re runs.

The government could also regulate the stuff, which would increase consistancy and remove the chances of getting something that is laced with shit you don't want. This would make it safer.

Tax revenue is another benefit of this.

The problem I see our country facing is that it's like teenage sex. People tell their kids its bad, assume their kids don't engage in it, and preach abstinence. Fine, but that isn't going to stop kids from fucking like rabbits. So we got smart and started teaching sex ed, giving out condoms, planned parenthood, etc, and it dropped the teen pregnancy rate. Go figure?

If we as a society realized that a good portion of those around either have or do smoke pot and for the most part it has not negatively changed their lives, we could stop having it be mystified into this monster that would ruin society if available to the masses.

Except for the infinetly less harmful than alcohol. I'd say it's about on par with alcohol.

But nobody will legalize it. Even if it passed, it'd get challenged in the Supreme Court and it'd lose. Nobody in government likes trying to solve a problem--they like to sweep it under the rug until the next election time so they have something to talk about.

I smoke weed from time to time. I'd have to agree with those that say its safer than alcohol. Yet, all at the same time it's bad for you. At any rate, I don't really care if it's legalized or not. It's too easy to pick up from a connect anyway. Besides, I bet if it does pass.. it'll prolly end up costin more than you'd get from a connect.

I don't smoke weed. I'm never going to because I know I'll like it. I ignored that advice with cigarettes, and I've been smoking for two years now (I stopped last week with the patches--bronchitis can be used for good).

I do have a lot of friends that smoke weed, and like alcohol, it affects people differently. One of my friends can smoke all night and drive like she's perfectly sober. My other friend giggles and acts like a fuckhead for hours and couldn't drive a stake into the ground.

People like him shouldn't drive when they're stoned; that's why I say weed's about on par with alcohol. Because some people can drive well when they're shitfaced, but most people can't, and that's why it's illegal to drive drunk. I think legalized pot should be viewed the same way.
