It was a dumbass comment, he wasn't meaning to insult the troops, he was meaning to insult Bush and support bringing them home.

That would be easier to believe if he didn't have a 30 year history of making disparaging remarks about the military and the troops. Calling the US soldiers in Vietnam "war criminals" and such, and the phrasing of what he said the other day makes it real hard to spin as a "joke" about Bush.

Last I checked, old Lerch wasn't running for anything next week.
I won't defend his remarks - as they were foolish. But the R's sure are trying to get any mileage they can out of the story at this point.
Come this time next week, I think we'll see some real move towards bringing our brave men and women home.

As for the comment being true? My youngest brother graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy with his doctorate of pharmacy almost 2 years ago, and THEN joined the United States Army as a Captain. Why? I asked the same question. "Because", he said, "I feel like it's my duty to serve my country, they NEED Pharmacist's in the Army." That my friend is honorable and I can't argue with his desire to do so. And for that arrogant piece of shit bastard Kerry, to make asinine comments like that about peopel like my brother, really tweaks me. My brother, and people like him, have more sense, smarts, intelligence, honor, values, morals, etc. in their little fingers, than Kerry has in his whole body.

Not profession but because he is a college graduate. Usually those people wont enlist but will be contracted and sent to OCS (like boot camp but for future officers.
Dave, your misstake with the previous post is saying "vote democrat." Choosing any party is a fuckup as you will close your mind to the other side. That and democrats dont vote. :)Im now E30less.

The truth is that there are no good politicians in office right now, and no good ones to vote for this election. Wether you're a Democrat or a Republican I think we can agree on that. What we need is another FDR, someone who will break party lines and unite the whole country towards a common goal. Our country would be in a lot better position right now if we werent split right down the middle.
