Eh, I don't really see the problem. So he sucks at driving and he doesn't seem to understand how to improve (if he even wants to improve). Autox is about having fun with your car, not getting the best times of the day. I would much rather he push his monster car on the track then on the streets.

And I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want to have some traction-free fun with that car.

I've seen cars that steer with throttle.. so I know it can be done..
You have to put all kinds of effort into learning how to drive that way....
It's too easy to just hop-up the hell out of your car, then not tighten up the nut behind the wheel. That's just dangerous and ignorant.

A crew of guys here race 2 fox body stangs (one is an svo? v6 turbo) and one old school fastback.
1 reminds me of a classic redneck, but they're having their fun I guess

A lot of people out here come to put on pure drift exhibitions and don't give a crap about times, I say autox'ing is about fun

that guy doesn't know how to improve obviously. around 7:00, he had an instructor (maybe) as a passenger and he was doing great, just ripping through the course until he locked up his front tires and went straight into the grass where he should have turned. he got a little to comfortable and increased the speed a little too much.

Whatever. Ive done it in a 2002 before, its much more fun finding limits and ending up in the grass than being a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles. Then again hitting trees is lame.

I don't see a problem. That was most likely a whole season, maybe more, worth of footage, and I'm sure he taped each run he did. He may have had many excellent runs and made a movie of his mess ups. He's getting around the tracks pretty fast, and pushing his limits in a safe enviroment (minus the parking lot full of cars/people at that one track...)

Why do people say fox body's can't handle? There's aftermarket suspension kits that replace basically everything with new A-arms, etc.. with better geometry for less then $3k, that with equal drivers will outhandle an e30 with typical suspension mods.

that car sounds like a monster. that guy cant drive. that car doesnt handle and its solid axle will never handle like independent set up. i give the guy a lot of credit for posting all his fuck ups on the web. you can drive a car with that much power pretty well if you know how. i can see how it would be easy to get carried away with it though. i bet that things a lot of fun in a straight line. ead

i think he was on the throttle all the time cuz its sounds fucking awsome! i love the raspy american sound...
love the tone of the e30 better though hehe.

i agree that this is just a video of his screw ups, maybe he made it so he can learn from his mistakes, who knows...

Most autocross organizations wont allow an autocross to happen that close to trees or a power pole or anything a car can hit...besides cones. SCCA's minimun distance is (if I remember right) 50 feet.
Shit happens. Maybe that will make him a better driver.
It wasn't that big of a deal. He might have had a tire go off as he was turning. He hit the accel instead of the brake.
