I just saw that on the boob tube. I was wondering why so much when the rest of those guys get paid pennies.

plus, MLS just got rid of their salary cap. I'm not sure what the cap used to be but Im sure he is well over it....

but the pop star status is true for a lot of soccer players, not just Beckham, in Europe and other countries...just like baseball/basketball/football players achieve 'pop' status here in the US

50 Mill a year is still outragous though. What a freakin waste...

Soccer sux... the guys that play it are a bunch of pansies... barely get a boot to the shin and they roll around like their leg is broken, or better yet they get hit in the chest, and rol around holding their heads...

Rugby players would show these guys a thing or 2 about pain... I also seem to think that the NFL players could do the same.

if you didn't know already that's called acting....after they roll around on the ground for a few seconds and realize the ref isn't gonna call a foul they get right back up and play.

I hate the fact that they do it but its not like they're really 'injured'

sidenote on the posh spice comment : I read somewhere that Simon Cowell (sp?) has already talked to her about cohosting American Idol next year...lol

i dont even know where you get the balls to use NFL, soccer and rugby in the the same comparative sentence...and because you probably don't know, theres a lot more injuries in soccer than NFL. my guess is becuase soccer players dont fall on their fat asses covered in armor. soccer is the greatest and that's why there's 10000x more soccer fans/players in the world

anyways, beckham is a now a rich media bitch i've always liked the way he sets up the game and distributes the ball

You're right, soccer shouldn't be included in the same sentance.
Now show me two soccer players running full speed at each other with the intention of knocking the other guy the fuck out, on purpose.
Maybe there's more injuries in soccer because there are 10000X more players.

When was the last time a soccer player had a concussion....while playing the game??

I didn't realize the purpose of football was to knock other players the fuck out...I always thought it had something to with scoring points...you know, touchdowns and stuff like that.

Both sports are completely different, nothing to be compared about the two. Football is more of a contact sport yes...thats why they wear pads, etc. Just because soccer players aren't giving each other concussions, "running full speed" trying to tackle each other doesn't make them pansies.

Show me two NFL players running full speed at each other with the intention of knocking the other guy the fuck out WITHOUT pads on and come back to me.

                              Thanks
