    Kart racing is bad ass

well, the local track finally opened back up. has been abandoned for 7 years. My brother just got a kart so im not just helping him out. i got out of it in 2000.

this is the first youtube video i have tried. it very pixelated. it looks alot better on my computer. it was a good race and i caught a wreck. i was in the infeild spinning in circles.

Track is a 1/5 mile. kids are doing under 12 seconds so they are going over 60.

any help on how to get a clearer video?

hehe, now I see it. Looks fun. Silly "tater diggers" puhpuhpuh :P We actually have a Briggs world formula in my shop that isnt accounted for. Kinda been thinking about using it on a kart that I've got for another 'fun' class road racing.

Nice slow down of the wreck, thats never fun.

When I saw 1/5 mile I thought "damn, thats a small track!" but its an oval, makes more sense. I road race my kart, its a lot of fun.

Karting is great. I raced a few years ago. Just a blueprinted briggs on a bandit chassis. That's what taught me how hard racing on the correct line is.

The guy I bought my kart from had a KTM 250 engine with nitrous. I don't know how...I didn't ask questions. Talk about hp/weight ratio. THAT is badass.

Smaller track than I thought it'd be. It's pixelation because theres such low light, your camera can't compensate for it well. Looks like a ton of fun!

Me and my dad have a kart hanging up in the garage, haven't used it in about a year and a half. We used to run it around his building which was maybe a qaurter mile track. I have always wanted to get into it but haven't really had the chance. I know it was prime when we bought it was maybe about 3-4 years ago. We had the alchol conversion but never put it on because you have to drain your gas tank after every day.

Karts are cool but ovals aren't my thing.

Its an old video, but one of the earlier ones that I took with my helmet cam. It seems pretty laid back and it is in comparison to sprinting (thats fun too) however, momentum and drafting play a bigger role. Cornering loads are still pretty harsh too.

i raced for 3 years before i nearly killed myself snowboarding...
i raced a sodi kart chassis with yamaha engine, the thing would do like 45-60.
cheapest way to go racing by far!

I have always wanted to build a cart. Not to race, but just to drive in in places I shouldn't... Like bike paths at 1am

That's not kart racing. It looks more like baby NASCAR.

I had a 100cc yamaha clutch kart when I was 15-17. It was very fun on the track.
