Blunt there are lots of people that have done hard drugs that never smoked weed regularly or even at all. This whole gateway drug thing is a cop out imo.. It not like when you smoke weed, your brain all the sudden decides its time to do harder and harder drugs....

I'm probably an exception to the norm, probably because of where I live. But I smoke weed just about everyday. I have a at least a 3.5 all the way through college, I'm becoming a certified commercial pilot, I don't have any desire to do harder drugs, lots of my friends smoke all the time and are perfectly normal productive people... FFS one of them is a Pre Med with honors and is holding down a 3.98 gpa... People need to suck it the fuck up and take responsibility for their choices...and stop blaming it on weed.

ok maybe youre not guilty of being lazy. youre just guilty of making poor choices and it will bite you in the ass. that im sure of. people dont want potheads shuttling them around at 30k feet. you need to make a choice. give up all illegal drugs or pick a new career like forklift operator or some shit. random drug tests will put you in the unemployment line

i think that most of the people that are arguing against your viewpoint are upset that they were not strong enough to say no, so that means that everyone else is just as weak. this discussion has gone on for 3 pages and no ones opinion has changed at all. why waste anymore space talking about it?

Fair enough, I was enjoying the argument tho, I'm not taking it personally I'm just trying to point out that not every one fits the mold of being a lazy and unsuccessful.

I actually agree with every one that hard drugs serve no purpose in this world and we should do every thing we can to get rid of them. I even agree that weed can be a gateway for people to try harder drugs. I although I don't agree that weed is a gateway to harder drugs for every person that smokes it. It's not the only reason those people try them, you make a conscious choice to try harder drugs.

Thirdly I'm well aware I have to stop doing any illegal drugs when I start flying Commercial, hell I've been planning since the begging to quit before I even become a CFI (Certfied Flight Instructor). I never ever smoke before or any time close to when I'm gonna fly. Flying is serious and I take it very seriously. Your career is based off of not just your skills as a Pilot be who you are and who you know. Right now I'm just another college kid taking private lessons a few times a week at most, hell I don't get to fly much currently thanks to Oregon's addiction to clouds and rain

Portland is a great city. I love it here.

I just gave a total stranger a ride today to the Emergency room where his GF was. This kind of thing happens alot here.
