    f**king with disabled veterans

every month the disabled veterans call me and ask if i have anything to donate to their organization like household goods and clothing.
last summer they called and i had a bunch of shit in the basement i wanted to unload so i said sure, come on by.
i spent 2 hours hauling big fucking recliners, tables and other assorted shit out the the curb of my single family dwelling. i was sweating like pasha running from the INS. it looked like a bunch of homeless derelicts had set up camp in my cul de sac.
those assholes showed up the next morning and didnt take this crap. they left a note saying this wasnt the kind of stuff they wanted. WTF???? it was nice furniture. not some old cum stained couches and shit. so anyway, for the last 8 or 9 months when they call i tell them "sure, come by, i have a bunch of stuff. and then i sit and peer out the window hiding behind the curtains laughing at the stupid asses who knock on my door wondering where their shit is.
its been going on for a good 8 months. they leave a note saying "did you forget"?
i wonder how many years this will go on until they figure out im fucking with them
disabled vets are on my list along with wayzata amoco and rainbow foods. blockbuster is on it too but i havent been able to break their icy grip yet

that's fucked up man...there's a saying "A caballo regalado no se le mira colmillo" meaning when you get something as a gift or free for the same purpose you do not look at the bad things in it...i'm pretty sure they could've made use of your stuff

            im hoping this is sarcasm.
unless you picture a couple dudes with limbs blown off getting out of a handicap equipped moving van struggling to get up to my door to load furniture.
im a veteran myself and some may say mentally handicapped.
the guys loading this shit resemble oak trees and ill bet all the good shit never makes it back to the store anyway. in short i do support vets but dont fuck with me. wayzata amoco gets drain oil.junk engine blocks, trannys and generally anything i can dump off under cover of darkness. all over a fucking gas cap they refused to replace 12 years ago. thats the most expensive gas cap in the history of the world

Hey, you had my support yesterday - but not today. Most non-profit places are doing this now. Keeps out a fair amount of true trash people are too cheap to take to the dump. Not saying you were doing that at all, just how it is. If it makes you feel any better, I tried donating a nice leather couch that I knocked one of the feet off loading it on the truck. I didn't even loose it, it was in the bed. No dice. They didn't want it, and all it needed was to be screwed on in a new spot. I ended up unloading it to some college kids when I pulled in the dorm parking lot.

Salvation Army, Goodwill, & even the local Soroptimist all do that now. I asked in S.A. about that couch thing next time I went, and they said clothes move faster than furniture, so the furniture had to be pristine. Looking around in the S.A., it's far different than even 10 years ago - lots of nice stuff, just used. So I don't thing they are as needy as they were back in the day. My Dad does a lot of charitable work, and he lets people dropoff at his workshop - some stuff is nicer than my own stuff.

Maybe the Vet's are fortunate enough that they can be picky - that would be good, cause I really can't think of any group that deserves more respect than disabled Vets.

Derek is right too, you are a fairly skilled wordsmith.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Maybe if they didn't charge so much for the furniture they get for FREE they would unload it faster. College kids are looking for a $20 couch, not to drop $75+ even if it is nice.

Next time tell them to send disabled veterans with ARMS. So they can actually carry their shit away.

blunt, strap (strap it well, yeah i still haven't forgiven you) a lazy-boy to my next shipment. k? thx.

See every month our big trash piles on our curb side gets picked up. Most of the time I see families who can't afford furniture come pick up anything they can use before the trash truck. Sure most of the time they eye my barely cracked garage too, but they are already scavenging. So, put the shit on the curb, and someone in need will make it disappear.

Here's the real story - most often those "disabled veterans' are actually a for-profit business that recycles old stuff. Many of them run thrift stores and the like. So they are cherry picking the stuff they think they can sell.

They agree to give a precentage of the PROFITS to the vets group in exchange for using the name.

Same thing in Kentucky with the guy who calls to sell us jellies and jams for the State Police Familieis Fund. They get like 2-3 cents on the dollar of what you buy from these people.

I guess the charities get a big enough check from it all to allow this.

ok this was about 12 years ago and i was driving the "love machine"
a 90's ford ranger pick up that ran on 3 cylinders but it was free. i drove it because it was free and i wanted to see how far i could take it. anyways. i always pump my own gas when im in a decent car but i didnt give a shit about this thing so i pull into wayzata amoco full service lane. this drone comes out looking like hed been hitting the bong for the last 5 hours with MOT.
i tell him to fill it up and when hes done i leave and all seems well. a few days later i pull into a gas station miles from wayzata and go to pump my own gas. i open the filler door and the gas caps not there. fuck!!!
i stop in wayzata amoco later that day and approach the same burn out i dealt with a few days ago. i tell him he forgot to put my gas cap on earlier and i wonder if he has it. he goes in and about 4 or 5 minutes later he comes out, screws a gas cap on my filler neck and walks to the window and says "that'll be 7 bucks"
i started laughing at him and said you are fucking kidding right? he said no he needed 7 bucks. so i told him to take it off the car and to tell his manager that will go down as the most expensive gas cap in history.
im not exxagerating when i say i dump all my shit at wayzata amoco.
at least 3 engines numerous tranny's a couch, gallons upon gallons of drain oil left out back (in containers of course) a good portion of my old deck cut up into bite sized pieces, a bunch of old concrete footings i dug up with a bobcat old refridgerators etc etc. i will not stop until im caught ....
