my touring gets a lot of attention, even from non-car people. in fact it gets kind of annoying to be honest.

but noone gives a shit about my coupes

although they still think its "BMW" enough to hate it. when I first bought my black coupe (that jam now owns) the 2nd day I had it i parked it on Allen, a street in buffalo in a pretty bustling nightlife area. someone fucking keyed it the first day i had it.

it was light enough to come out, but still. fockers.

thats why I will hopefully leave my touring as a sunday driver (although i already have another sunday driver) from now on

I've never really had any problems.. my car only had one door ding on it, and that was there when I bought it. but really most of the parking spots around here are sized for all the gargantuan SUVs and trucks, my little E30 can slide right in with several feet on each side.

i stopped off at the grocery store to pick up a few things, and on my way out to my car, i see this guy, kinda one of those 92 lb girlie tail-between-legs waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles types with a flower in one hand getting into the e60 next to me. I see him pop the door open, look at my car and just open his door right into my car. I saw the look on his face...it was the Its just an Old POS, absolutley no respect whatsoever...kinda pissed me off so i tailgated him out of the parking lot and down the street.....just to see on his plate frame "BMW of Beverly Hills"...of course. Fuckin' douchebags...seriously gtfo of my city and stop denting my doors..makes me wish I had pulled his ass out and beat his dinky ass to shit.

so... you risked your life, his and the life of your car because he accidentally dinged your door? oh, and you just didn't like him because he was skinny and drove an e60...

E30s are great because only the people who appreciate them come up to talk to you... I must say though that an M badge in the back and a wing (i'm talking about an e30 m3) will get you more attention than desired.

Cars are just transportation to most people.
I work with this guy who is into the 22" - chromed out look. Cool guy, I'm not a huge fan of his car, but what I do appreciate is the way he appreciates HIS car. Consequently, we understand each other pretty well, and I think I'm one of the few people who he would MAYBE consider driving his car, if it came down to it.
Not everyone is like that, like what was said before.
I may not have an '06 BMW, but dammit, my '86 is mine, free and clear, and I love the shit out of that car. Don't even THINK about disrespecting it right in my face, like other people have experienced.
(of course it helps that I'm 6'4" and 220ish. While they are laughing at how such a huge individual could possible drive such a small car, I'm beating the shit out of their car.) :D

ya, yesterday i came back to my parking spot which was pretty far away from other cars, i meen atleast 20 sport away from the closest car.

I walk back to my car, and i see a whole bunch of spit on the hood and windshield... fuckin pissed me off to no extent. I meen they had to deliberatly walk 20-30ft. just to spit on it... I am sure all of yo know how i felt.

but i alway get shit all the time from my freinds about having an e30 and not having a e46 but they just dont get it... i love my e30, it isnt an m3 or anything, but i love it just as much as i would an M. I will be getting an e46 m3 next year, but i will still love teh e30.

there are some people that dont realize what they are doing, for example one of my friends who's not into cars at all smacks his door into anyother car almost every time he parks. it makes me livid and i bitch him out for it. he just says "it doesnt do anything"

grrr he did it to my e28 one time, and i almost killed him. the paint on that car is flawless... bronzit... but flawless

back op topic... usually i get positive attention for the car. If anything they want to know what it is(ive gotten mitsubishi and nissan before) or how old it is (usual guess is circa 1995) or why my hood is black(cf). Unfortunately there are assholes out there. Ive had a guy throw a biggulp at me for no reason while i was driving into a gas station and other general BMW hate that others have mentioned.

The funniest is the weird hate from the muscle car guys at shows. I have gotten "nice wind up toy", "where is your wing", "Big Money Waste" several times. Its kinda interesting to see how their reaction changes when the hood is up and im explaining... 6 speed... s52... faster than their car

My e30 gets mixed respect. Like whoever hit my door with theirs at the park and ride :firehop: And my muscle cars get all the respect. Never had anyone mess with them. But a 70 Dodge Dart i had in high school, some dumbfuck keyed it :curse: , but the insurance covered it and all of the key marks buffed out.
