I don't think it's really clear to those not in this country what the mood is here. This is really sad and should not be joked about. At least not at this time.

Something about this story just does not add up. I know that we don't have all of the details and we are at the mercy of what the news media tells us but I don't see how this guy can successfully shoot 30 people if all he had was a 9mm and a .22 in his posession. He would have to reload at some point, right? I mean I know a 9mm holds more than 2 bullets but certainly it does not hold a 50 round magazine. So it seems to me like someone would have attempted to fight back or escape while he was reloading. I am sure that there is more to this story than we know about.

Ps. I know what i said sounded mean, but it wasnt meant to sound like i was having a go. Also, i'm not saying it doesnt happen elsewhere, just more common in the US for various reasons.
You guys get uber touchy about someone saying something about your country.
Sorry.
No, you're not. You just got called on it, so it was the easy out. I see you are 'a little touchy' about your little civil issue brought to light, so do the fucking math, or say less offensive things when you want to act so 'enlightened'. You merely were born there, douchebag, you had no part of forming your country's gun policy. I've never cursed on the internet before, but I swear you better hope Osama or his little buddies don't do some shit in your homeland, because I'll be the 1st to PM your Aussie ass and rub in a little salt, Buttercup. I hear Sydney was on the Osama B short list, so wake your ass up - shit can happen anywhere, for no good reason.
I'm not even close to overly serious about internet crap, but an Aussie spouting gun policies - whatever. I just personally have better sense than to get on an Aussie site after a sad event and do the Monday Morning Quarterback thing, because I know I'd get the same heat I'm giving your ignorant ass.
How should I take "LoL" ? - I obviously am missing your stellar sense of humor.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I am rough on the timeline, like all of us right now - but what about the guy just carrying a few extra preloaded mags? I'm by no means representing this as fact, just a possible answer to your question.
I've got 3-4 extra mags for all the stuff I own, and I think that's a pretty common practice. Makes time at the range a lot more efficient.

a few people did run. Others were too shocked to move. A lot of people would say that they would be brave and courageous in a given situation, but the truth is, unless you are trained for it, you dont know what you would do. One of the professors was former military, and he still was killed. So its unpredictable. I would love to say that i would be able to pick up a pencil and stab it through the guys temple, but the fact of the matter is i dont know what would happen. I spent most of my time in class today wondering what would happen if someone walked into the classroom and started shooting. Weird way to spend a class day.

Being that I watch plenty of TV, I am confident that if I was in that situation, I would just wait for the background music to start and then I would go into action. I would probably do a front-flip and then do some Van Damme martial arts on the guy and grab the gun out of his hand while the rest of the class applauds.

Let's not oversee that yesterday, another 140 innocents died after one bombing in Sader City, Irak. One bomb led to 140 death and 150 wounded. We shouldn't forget these victims too. Outside any religion perspective, let's ask ourself why do people need to kill each others?Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.
