    Teething SUCKS

Don't know how many of you have kids, but god, teething is absolutely horrible. :(

I have a 15 month old daughter, and she is getting it bad right now. She's getting the teeth directly under her eyes, called "eye" teeth, and the poor kid is miserable. High fever, throwing up, headache, and there's next to nothing you can do about it, you feel so helpless and bad for them. Man, I can't wait until she's through this, it's heartbreaking.

I don't have kids of my own, but my siblings have made me an uncle three times (plus a new nephew due in about two weeks) and I've had more than enough experience changing diapers, feeding and yes - teething. It is discouraging that you can't do much for them. Poor things are going through hell.

When my kid was at that stage, there was this gel novocaine thing, it came in a little tube, you just smeared it with your finger on the gums and the kid didn't feel a thing, get it at the local drugstore. It'll save your daughter a lot of pain and you lots of sleep ;)

We just gave me sister childrens tylenol PM...she probably slept through 95% of the teething process haha. I am very very close to my 7 year old sister and remember when she went through the teething phase and feeling bad that she was going through so much pain.

                    heres some tech tips

Teething has not been shown to cause fever. A slight rise of temperature may occur when the teeth come through the gum. But it does not make a baby ill.

Infants chew on objects to aid in the teething process. This can be dangerous if the baby is allowed to chew on objects which are small enough to be swallowed or which could break while being chewed, creating a risk of choking. Teething rings and other toys are often designed with textures that will appeal to an infant during teething.

In cases where the infant is in obvious pain, some doctors recommend the use of anti-inflammatories or child-safe pain-relief treatments containing benzocaine. Some infants gain relief from chewing on cold objects.

Dentists recommend brushing infants' teeth as soon as they appear. It is not necessary to wait for the teething process to complete. Dentists may recommend against the use of fluoride toothpaste during teething.

Josh, freeze some grapes and let her chew on them WHILE YOU HOLD THEM!!!

Most of the "Baby OraGel" stuff has Nightshade in it. I never gave my children halucinigens...but you know Nigel, maybe I should have!

                      Hang in there, buddy.

You go teasing Deagle and being nice, he won't know what to think the next time somebody knocks his dick in the dirt. At least if we are consistently tough on him, he'll know what to expect.

                          For example....

Deagle - Ooooooh - copy/paste. Impressive. Or maybe it's personal experience after seeing that pic of you floating around, you look like your adult teeth came in last month, and you are hoping your nuts drop before summer.

Something like that.....do you get what I'm saying or do I need to make myself clearer?

Good luck Josh - too bad parenting ain't like the old days where it was cool to rub a little rum on the kiddo's gums.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.
